I really like the build of the BW Exalted deck. It’s got a good focus, and it’s the only one that can really run WELL without it’s big player. I mean, Liliana’s shade boosted a little by its +1/+1 ability with a couple of exalted cards out and it becomes a big hitter turn 5. And other cards don’t really depend on Nefarox’s ability, nor does he do anything to make the board state really crazy. Odric, Krenko, Yeva, and Stormtide Leviathan make their decks WAY better, but you HAVE to get them out if you want to do particularly well. Captain of the Watch paired with Odric is great, but I don’t see it happening often enough that it’ll consistently beat a well-rounded deck that can attack with one big creature and leave quite a few creatures open to block, and the other ones seem equally hit-and-miss, if not more so.

I really like the UW and BW decks a lot, and the others are pretty decent considering what’s included. The RU sorcery deck is also pretty good. The other two I don’t really see as consistent, but has plenty of cards that could be thrown in constructed. I just wish they made intro packs more like these instead of mostly junk.

what does u stand for?

imo the best deck the among these 5 is the WU. the cards fit together nicely. like captain of the watch + healer of the pride + Odric. pretty decent combos :p

So I have been playing the Magic 2013 iPad game and I wanted to know, are the cards that are inside that game going to become standard legal when Magic 2013 is released?
Les Ramos6
Unfortunately no, a lot of those cards are from way older sets, it’s not meant to reflect current standard decks. I’ve played the older versions of duels of the planeswalkers, it’s been the same before, they put a lot of the new cards in but also a lot of older cards, think it would be more of a modern or casual type of decklists in there.
I’ve got a funny feeling that the majority of cards in the 2013 version, however, will be in date. Most of the decks, for once, showed previews of cards that were not yet released, as opposed to the older games that displayed cards we’d already seen before. The Exalted deck in the game, for example, is pretty similar to the Exalted Intro Pack.

You know until the end of September (end of M12 and earlier being standard) there is going to be a lot of Llanowar Elf, plus Arbor Elf play. Just sayin. Now also on the same note, I see a lot of Goblin Arsonist, Kenko, the Mob Boss, and Goblin Cheftain. It will be a frequently seen combo I predict. I am sad to say I have so far been the only one to see this deck. Exalted, Lifelink. All in one. Get many exalted cards on the field. Then get Ajani’s Sunstriker to attack. Use Divine Verdict, to get rid of chump blockers. Or Rain of Blades whichever floats your boat. Then build the new Ajani up to its last ability, and you have many 2/2 cats because of the built up Lifelink creature. This set may be my favorite since Time Spiral.

That’s a good combo but one I’ve thought of is Cathar’s Crusade plus Krenko. In four turns you have krenko as an 18/18 and a whole bunch of high powered goblin tokens
ultimate exalted combo sublime archangel with ajani’s ultimate
Liam
I really think that most of these decks should be mono colored. The only one that I honestly like whatsoever is the exalted deck.

the blue red deck would be amazing as monocolored and would beat the other decks because of rewind because blue can stall enough as well with jaces phantasm

i’d just like to point out that nobody seems to have noticed the obvious win condition with the BW deck. “Exalted + Tormented Soul + Mark of the Vampire” for the attack with single creature plus life gain. if that doesn’t kill the oponnent in a couple of turns then drop serras avatar which will be huge thanks to the life gain from the mark of vampire or even knighthawk. Serra + Exalted equals ouch!! and to protect yourself just chuck in as many cheap deathtoucher’s as you can to put the opponent off attacking like typhoid rats and giant scorpion. and for extra fun chuck in ajani not that it’ll be needed but its always fun to flood the field with kitties! lol. i really am looking forward to this new block! the day scars goes out of standard i will be a happy man .
bob
jones don’t forget that nefarox dude he is really good
ty
why did they even put in the red mana in talrands deck? it only has 5 red cards
Guest
Talrand is broken in standard because of all the instances snapcaster, cheap mana spells, rewind, his invocation, the other merfolk
Nefarox’s assasin
personally I think that the idea of making the important card for all of these decks a legendary creature is pretty nice, but still the green black deck isn’t good at all, the red green deck has a couple of flaws, and the blue red deck isn’t good unless you get out talrand or stormtide. I do like the composition of the white blue deck and especially the black white deck. Both of them have many ways to win and don’t rely on only one or two cards. the white blue deck still has some flaws, but it could still win games. The black white deck is just plain out BOSS though it can win with small creatures you normally wouldn’t pay attention to, for example look at tormeted soul you see that alright it stay but you play out some exalted creatures and then that one drop tormented soul becomes a total pain in the ass
bob
id say the best decks are the red green and the black white there isn’t really any flaw in the red green deck why? all u need is that krenko, mob boss, krenko’s command, and all the other goblins and goblin tokens, and the fire elemental and valkas, then your opponent is crushed i agree the green black isn’t that good creatures are too expensive by the time u get vaswood gorger and such, you likely already had lost quite a lot of life
Loltucan
what “flaw” in the red-green deck do you mean, Nefarox’s assasin? as i see it, the deck is perfect.
lol master
how much do they cost
bob
well all the decks are pretty good, though each one has a flaw. each one should have a name also
I would call the white-blue deck an army deck or my odric deck… got really good cards like crusader of odric and odric, master tactition
may want to have more exalteds that’s what white decks are good for
the blue-red deck would be my sorcery deck. very good instants and sorceries also stormtide… awesome card
would be better if it was just blue the red is unnecessary… also missing jaces phantasm in that deck… and needs more library depleation cards (what blue decks are awesome for)
the black white deck would be the exalted deck… love that nerafox dude
actually, there is no thing that could be improved about this deck though!!!
the red green deck would be a goblin deck… love that mob boss guy
exept for that fire elementals, should have more goblins… I also belive the green was unnecessary
for the green black deck… my gigantic creature deck awesome creatures
titanic growth should have been in this one… also creatures need to be a bit cheaper… defenantly more wurm cards… don’t like the spiders don’t fit well… get something like gravetiller or pathbreaker
bob
stopped having green decks too much rely on creatures need instants and sorceries now building a blue red, a white blue, a red black, and a black white
bob
here would be some good combos krenko and the other goblins tormented, exalted creatures, nefarox, and that nighthawk guy odric, crusader of odrics, and some human tokens and talrand, stormtide, and harbor serpent
