• Samuel

this is what the curses last innistrad should of looked like

  • Tommy Yagami

    Yay! Curses are back!

  • Dave

    Awesome card! Love it.

Also, Shroud/Hexproof doesn’t help against the curse since it’s not cast with a target but rather is attached on entering.

    • Ethan

?? It literally says attached to TARGET opponent; “target” is precisely what hexproof has protection from. So hexproof would work, wouldn’t it? Am I missing something?

      • Kahai

If it just said, put it onto the battlefield with Enchant player on the transformed side it would get around targeting. Like Zur the Enchanter does.

        This targets.

      • Tragic

You are correct, anything that targets cannot affect hexproof.

      • Dave

Yeah, sorry, I noticed later it a few minutes later as well but forgot to comment.
This does indeed target, unfortunately. Love Screams from Within for its non-target recurral.

  • Kahai

This has it’s own type of evasion. If they block with anything big enough to kill it, they are enchanted. It’s great.

  • Marc Tremblay

dam this is quite the uncommon, swing with this and your opponent will have a hard time deciding what to do. Mind games that I like

  • De’Elgathor

Unfortunately, if this gets good, people’ll just leave up mana for one of the many exile spells in standard post rot. A case where a good card kills its own usefulness

    • YouGotFranked

Or you could just sacrifice it yourself

  • Randall Chevalier

This is a fun card but I think it gets on board to late to make that much difference. It would work better as a 2-drop 1/1 or 3 drop 2/1, but as it is by the time you can cast it the opponent can just exile it.

  • Elijah Bones Stewart

A Giant Cockroach with a big upside to that dodgy toughness on turn four.

  • Melissa Juice

    More curses, please.

  • Nebulium

I love this thing, pretty much every decision your opponent makes when you attack with it is going to hurt them. All that exiling from Zendikar hurts it a little but ignoring that this is just a sweet card.

  • Hedronal

Curses, wooo! I very much enjoy all of the mechanical references to Innistrad 1.

  • Quincy Robinson

Really cool card. Punishment from any angle.

  • Nathan Harviala

This card makes me sad. There aren’t any many good black spells that target players (I’m not saying there aren’t any, but there are very few), so there’s very little overall value you can get from this card. Maybe something like a one-drop Geth’s Verdict, but that’s about it. The life swing is like a very slow Blood Artist, and all that for 4 CMC… I’m gonna pass.

    • MrAptronym

There are a lot of good black spells that target players. Life drain effects, discard, edicts just off the top of my head.

      • Nathan Harviala

I’m sorry, I misspoke a small amount in my previous post. There aren’t a lot of black spells that target players that also need generic mana. Most of them, like the discard spells, need either one black, or target your monsters to get the effects.

  • Jacob Kodicovic

Please print more cards like this! This is the best flavor I’ve seen in a while.

  • Zblaster

Rather different card… Not sure how much use this will get in standard but the group i play with sometimes does huge 8 player games where you can only declare combat on players adjacent to you (We play in a circle) but spells can be cast at anyone… This might be great for some laughs there.

  • Hedronal

I hope that at some point I get to use that cost reduction on another curse.

  • darkersterded

I hope that we gona see some other curces again☺

  • Joaquim Mp

I find it hillarious that she looks like a drag queen, wonder if wizards requested it in purpose, and if they did, I’m glad mtg is getting so diverse in its characters.
We also had Alesha just recently in fate reforged.

    • Gareth Martin

She isn’t a character and she isn’t confirmed or looks like a drag queen.

    • space-coyote

If anything, she looks like Maleficent.
