• Nebulium

I have no idea what it says, but that extra line at the top of the text box makes me think it’s got flying. The art seems to support that too. So a new and improved thrummingbird. Fantastic.

    • Aurore

      It’s flying

  • Happy The Cat

so… Thrummingbird? but with a buff?

    • Jacob Kodicovic

      Yeah, but no flying

Edit: I reread the card and it does have flying. Yay!

    • ConDucktor Whirl Crate God

It’s a downgraded Thrummingbird since it targets only 1 thing.

  • SPIRITDRAGON

Why is there so much text, they could have just wrote proliferate.

    • Seraph

Because proliferate is a block mechanic, not evergreen. Also this is slightly different to proliferate.

      • MithosFall

In what way is it different?

        • Seraph

Proliferate targets any number of types of counters on a permanent, while the wording on the translation seems to insinuate that only a single type of counters get multiplied here.

          • MithosFall

Read the reminder text on proliferate cards. Only one counter per chosen permanent or player.

          • Pandancules

On WotC website it clearly states that it will add a counter of each type already on that permanent

    • Darius Chiang

      This site’s translate is wrong.

  • Deadly Berry

“We have an ability that does exactly this, but we won’t use it because you know, bureaucracy”- Damn old and stubborn Wizards.

    • Jacob Kodicovic

Proliferate is a mechanic with a flavor of some type of plague. This card isn’t about spreading the Phyrexian corruption, and therefore shouldnot have proliferate

      • DJPad

Who cares about flavour, make the game simpler.

        • Hedronal

I care about flavor, that’s why I like the restrictiveness of a mechanic name being in direct proportion to its amount of design space. That said, without flavorful wording, mtg gets about as dry as Chandra’s hair.

    • ConDucktor Whirl Crate God

      This is nothing like Proliferate….

    • God Enel

With proliferate you can choose any number of permanents and players, this guy only lets you choose one of them, not even close to being the same thing.

      • Deadly Berry

        Right.

  • Darius Chiang

Translate have wrong. Correct Translate is below:
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you choose(选择) target(目标) permanent(永久物) or(或) player(牌手), For every type of counter on the chosen target, give each another counter of a kind already there.

    • Pau Roig Planas

      Is it also “flying”?

      • Darius Chiang

Yes 飞行 is flying, I also ignore.

        • Leeroy Jenkins

          Trans: 飛行

          • Darius Chiang

This card is simplify Chinese, so I also use this.(Although I use traditional Chinese in nature)

  • SPIRITDRAGON

Must have this for my Atraxa infect deck.

    • ConDucktor Whirl Crate God

Need this in Atraxa for Super Infect Friends.

  • Brian Schmidt

Why couldn’t they have just said Proliferate? I know it was in the Scars block but whats holding them back from using other Mechanics when they actually should?

    • Marco Bogni

they decided to use non-keyworded abilities from older sets, same with metalcraft.
it probably is a non-keyworded proliferate

      • God Enel

It’s not even close to proliferate.

        • Hedronal

Well it’s pretty close, but then inverted.

    • ConDucktor Whirl Crate God

Because Proliferate doesn’t singularly target. Proliferate is “Choose any number of permanents and or players with counters on them and give them each another counter of that type.” This only affects 1 target.

      • Brian Schmidt

I stand corrected, I misread it and figured it was just Proliferate.

  • guest

its 2 power in the air for only 2 mana. this fact alone makes this already strong enough in limited.

  • ConDucktor Whirl Crate God

I love how people are saying this is the same as proliferate…..

  • Arcus Diabolus

Please let it be a pirate, please let it be a pirate, please let it be…

    • Lixilix

      its a human pirate

  • Edwin Marín Castro

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s deck for me!

  • Shagoth

New Atraxa staple, which says a lot given that Atraxa has a super tight and competitive 59 spots in her deck.

    • Jacob Anderson

Not really, it only gives a counter to one target. Thrummingbird is MUCH better, and i usually don’t even have that in my Atraxa deck (to be fair i am kinda just splashing blue).
