The only thing that is staying in standard i can think of is Grislbrand… Hmmm, I have mixed feelings on this card. But it is a powerful lord, being a 3/3 flyer by itself and buffing all creatures you control, not just restricting it (small restriction of non-black creatures. Who cares?)

This shuts down a deck built on phyraxian mana, not that I cared for those decks any way

Anyone else notice this would be a two mana board wipe with killing wave? Just 1B you get all of their creatures sacrificed(and yours). But it would definitely change the flow of the game.

  Well it doesn’t really work that way. The restriction on paying life is only if it’s used to pay for a spell or ability. So in killing wave’s case you’re allowed to pay life since the life isn’t used to pay for a spell or ability
