    Good times

  • GabrielTosh

Top of curve for W/B Warriors
Also totally going Desolation of Smaug with that goat mount

    • Kameenook

Not top of curve, you probably still want to play Goblin Rabblemaster, Brutal Hordechief, and maybe Butcher of the Horde/Sorin, Solemn Visitor.

  • gabriel

jesus… where are they going with this set? there are so many amazing cards… this is definitely one of them

  • BariumBlade

im not 100% on this, but is this supposed to be our new-timeline Anafenza?? the similarities are striking

    • No, Anafenza will be a legendary creature.

    • Zombie

The “Foremost” is just whoever’s leading the army’s charge into battle.

Anafenza was called the Foremost because she was the Clan Leader who lead her army into battle instead of commanding it from behind.

  • Zombie

Could be really solid for the R/W and Abzan Aggro strategies that run evasive creatures like Wingmate Roc, Stormbreath Dragon, and Siege Rhino.

    • Angrygnome

Aside from being a removal magnet, how does the above card interact in any way with the cards you listed? None of them are Warriors.

      • Zombie

It doesn’t, I misread it. I thought it handed Double Strike out to any creature off a trigger from playing it or a Warrior.

        FALSE ALARM PEOPLE, CARD’S BAD.

        • Angrygnome

I wouldn’t call it bad by any means. A 2/2 double strike with a notable type for only 3 mana, even if two of it is coloured, is hardly bad. Adding in the ETB/Attack trigger, I think this will likely find a home as a corner stone of Warrior Tribal decks in constructed, and a solid pick in Limited.

        • Kameenook

Not bad, just not as good, very different things.

        • Blayde Hayes

Aven skirmisher/woe reaper > cheif of the edge > cheif of the edge > this > Brutal hordechief.

This is not bad by any means.

  • Oberon

zurgo bellstriker says hi. This card will make warriors a thing, mark my words.

    • Kevan Kramer

warrior were a fairly good thing already

      • kmk888

No they weren’t. They’re buildable, but not good enough. The warriors deck hasn’t top 8ed any major event.

  • screamerchris

Too bad she’s a warrior otherwise I might have put her in my heroic deck.

  • YTRJD

I got excited thinking this was the new Anafenza, but alas, it is not…I’m still afraid that with the fate of Sidisi and Zurgo, she’ll end up being something like “Anafenza, Brood Mare” churning out 1/1 human tokens to further grow Dromoka’s brood.

    • screamerchris

Wow wow don’t talk like that about Anafenze she’s pure.

    • Antares

Hey, an Anafenza that makes 1/1 Warrior tokens with Bolster 1 would be pretty sick. Especially if you could make them on demand, and she was cheap-ish.

      Imagine,
      a 3/3 for G/W, or a 4/4 for 1GW
that has Bolster 1, and makes 1/1 Warriors with Bolster 1 whenever something happens (say, a creature enters the battlefield, or you cast a creature spell). It would be glorious.

I have a feeling, from Zurgo and Sidisi, that each of the Rare legends will be in their Brood’s focus color, and have their brood’s mechanic somehow inserted.

  • Christopher John Lancaster

Is it a bird? A plane? No, it’s just a slightly worse silverblade paladin!

And as such is probably only going to see minimal standard play and nothing else.

    • Happy The Cat

I wouldn’t say worse this has double strike no matter what
if weenie gets off the ground or white devotion gets support it we will see her lots

      • Christopher John Lancaster

The problem I have with this card is it can only shoot up a warrior where as Silverblade could pair with any creature which opened stronger plays. And even with that it wasn’t played very heavily. Warrior tribal has already shown from the past two sets to be pretty weak against the meta which leads me to my original wont see much play statement.

Being a bear with double strike for 3 I guess isn’t the worst thing ever, but still pretty meh vs. Siege Rhino which is what a 3 drop realistically has to try and compete with.

    • Melissa Juice

Limited is a HUGE, important format. Forgetting it is silly, especially looking at the design of the game.

      • Christopher John Lancaster

Evaluating a card for limited is like evaluating cookies.
I love cookies, and usually the less complicated the better. More cookies is also a good thing (Commons/Uncommons come in higher quantity) The problem with this card is not only the rare slotting which makes it a pretty shitty pull unless your in draft and have access to warriors but the fact that it dies to common/uncommon low cost removal before it’s effect can be used twice. I mean there is even a two cost uncommon from the set already (Scaleguard Sentinels) that trades with this thing.

        • Melissa Juice

Man, you need to try some more types of cookies. Mmmm.

    • Kameenook

      Probably better than Silverblade.

  • Daniel Gilmore

    will run in warriors

  • Melissa Juice

    Tribal. Spooky.

  • p26man

If we get a two drop warrior worth playing… this will be a fun card.

    • Kameenook

Chief of the Edge. Somewhat Chief of the Scale, albeit less aggressive.

      • p26man

We need something better in the two drop spot than Chief of the Edge to put this over the top. Chief of the Scale doesn’t do what you want to be doing with warriors. Don’t get me wrong, I love tribal stuff, but I’m talking constructed playable.

        • Kameenook

It is constructed playable. Build it better.

    • Antares

Seeker of the Way. The new Black Warrior with the Falter effect. Herald of Dromoka. There are warriors out there for the taking. You just have to believe.

  • Blayde Hayes

Thank you for making my warrior deck an actual viable choice (given the right meta)

Between this and brutal hordechief, this is gonna hurt.

  • Kameenook

Oh no the warrior decks. Please stop.

  • guest

fabled hero isn’t a thing… don’t see how this could be

    • screamerchris

Cause warrior decks are a thing around my local meta and this just makes it a whole lot worse.

      • screamerchris

Worse as in worse to play against.

    • Melissa Juice

This is very different from Fabled Hero.
      Might see play.

    • Hedronal

Back at Theros, it certainly was, at least near me.

  • XC

My friend already plays a pretty strong W/B splash R warrior deck, so I wonder if he can find room for this among his other three-drops.
