ok now this has applications. . .

    • Rodrigo Coelho Costa Junior

sure does! But do you have something specific in mind?

      • William S. Miller

I made a shapeshifter deck that made people feel as though it bent all the rules, what I see with this is have “Laziv” on the field then target this guy have him copy your dimmir master mind the kill one of your opponets “good” creatures with a kill spell or mill off the top of their deck with a mill spell and have your 2 “Laziv” copy a creature. . .your little guy will lose his herioc but now you have 2 hexproof creatures that can copy as stuff gets put into the grave. . .

        • William S. Miller

you could even cast a ultimate price or doom blade at it have it copy “Laziv” since it copied “Laziv” it’s now blue and black so your own kill spell that targets it is now targeting a invalid target so it will fizzle. . .of course that’s if you get desperate lol

          • William S. Miller

Similar to what I do to make a horde of creatures that become everything with “Cytoplasim” and “Progenitor Mimic”

        • Rodrigo Coelho Costa Junior

Sounds like a fun deck! it’d like to see it if you have it at tappedout

          • William S. Miller

The standard deck or my shape shifter tribal?

          • Rodrigo Coelho Costa Junior

cool, I’ll take a look and upvote them, thank you =)

Wait a second… Let’s say I target artisan of forms with etheral armor. Etheral armor identifies itself on going onto a creature called Artisan of forms. However, on stack, Artisan of forms becomes something else (lets say Emrakul). Now etheral armor attempts to resolve, but it can’t find artisan of forms, so it goes to the graveyard.
    That kinda sucks. Alot.

    • Ryan

That is not true, as it doesn’t check specifically for “Artisan of Forms”, it checks that it’s the same occurence of the permanent (which doesn’t change if only characteristics change). Here’s an analogy:

If I cast ethereal armor on a creature, and my opponent for some reason uses Giant Growth on it, Ethereal Armor is not countered even though something about the card changes (it’s P/T).

The reason why Flickering creatures stops this (a la RestoAngel, Cloudshift) is because when the card reenters, it’s a new copy with a new timestamp. It isn’t the same “physical” copy that was out earlier.

      • Mike Thomas

I hope so. It’s just that I’ve used a similar method in my play groups to have thespian stage dodge removal.

        • Ryan

That will not dodge the removal (I assume you tried ghost quartering it, or something, and they changed it in response claiming that it won’t be destroyed?)

          • Mike Thomas

Well, for one, it was my Thespian Stage, but yeah, basically.

Nice twist on the clone card in every block.

so when are we getting Socrates or Plato as actual cards? we have artisan of forms; maybe our 3rd planeswalker will be “Plato, Master of the Divided Line”? i know dack faden or w.e his name is, is suppose to be in this set but i’d much rather see Plato or Socrates as a planeswalker :D

Biovisionary, Clone and this, you have a deck that can win by doing nothing

  • PineAppleCoffeCup

pretty sure it wouldn’t BUT asking so i don’t F*** up lol, what if it became a copy of another creature with Heroic? would that Heroic ability trigger or no?
