    Wow! for commander
    This is really fun.

  • typhuzuzu13

why hello there platinum angel/gideon ott. I know we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I have a new idea I think you’re really going to love

  • Vincent Godin-Filion

With Phyrexian Unlife, this is hilariously cruel.

    • Rocket Raccoon

How much I loved this idea <3

  • typhuzuzu13

so wait. You can choose which upkeep effect happens first right? so you could have a card that says “lose half your life at upkeep” and THEN activate this, right? so in any scenario YOU wouldn’t actually be losing any life from those effects?

    • M Hedonist

Yup, you choose the order your upkeep triggers go on the stack in your turn.

      • typhuzuzu13

so does this work around havoc festival, if only for a few turns? because in multiplayer, if you switch with the person who goes immediately after you (lets say they have 18life and you had 20?) suddenly they would have 5 on their turn and you would have eighteen. then, if you found a way to kill the player (5 damage isn’t that tall an order?), you repeat with the person who slides in that slot.

        • Vik

First you would go from 20 to 10 and then switch life. Your opponent loses 8 life to go from 18 to 10 but your life would stay at 10 because havoc festival prevents you from gaining life.
118.5. If an effect sets a player’s life total to a specific
number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up
          with the new total.

          • typhuzuzu13

right- not saying you would GAIN life, but you wouldn’t LOSE any for the first rotation. You would swap for the highest life total AFTER halving your own. then when their turn came around it’d be halved again. So while you didn’t “gain” life, by the end of the first rotation you haven’t really “lost” any either.

course, it only works for one rotation around, but essentially you would only be losing half life (or, the person you borrowed from would have) while the person you switch with would lose half twice.

          • typhuzuzu13

you aren’t gaining or losing life with this effect- simply exchanging your total wih someone else’s

  • kekek

With this and Arguel’s Blood Fast in the same set, we just need a reprint of the Lich!

    • xxxx

Lich is on the reserved list…

      • kekek

        I can dream can’t I?

  • Adam Gillies

Esper control is going to be lit

  • Geddon

“Two Players”. That’s what gets me. You don’t even have to be a part of it. Just start swapping life totals for fun and profit.

    • typhuzuzu13

gives “will of the council” and “council’s dilemma” a fun tool for diplomacy.

    • TogetherAlone

Yep this is going in my Mathas Group hug/hate deck.

  • Kameenook

Wowww brutal EDH political card…. Constantly just mucking with the table’s life totals. I like it

  • Siraphon

The Church of Dusk teaches in order to obtain, something of equal value must be lost.

    • lol

      Full metal style

  • galen150

wait, i can think of one way to make this okish. this and the enchantment that flips if you have 5 or less life both trigger on upkeep. flip the enchant to have some solid life gain, then exchange your 5 or less health with their health. plus, you could pay life in responce to this things trigger and leave them with like 2 health. this might be just stupid enough in the right way to see niche play in a black white vamp deck.

  • dashkatae

This plus Form of the Dragon is just funny.

  • Aurore

    Necropotence be like

  • Georgio

Hmmm I wonder what would happen if I changed the life totals of the players in the game next to me at a pre-release haha

    • Hedronal

Now I hope there’s an un-set version of this that can do that. “Two target players you can see exchange life totals. (You don’t need to be in the same game as either of them.)”

  • Julna Buras

This is the most politicky politics card I’ve ever seen. Why was it not in Conspiracy?

    • Tony Delfino

Have you seen Reverse the Sands? It’s equally fun and politicky.

  • Alex

This will be especially amusing in my group where a particular player loves to Exsanguinate for massive amounts…

  • Tony Delfino

My god that art is beautiful…. I want a full-size print!

Also my brain immediately goes to putting this into a Selenya or Crovax, Ascendant Hero commander deck.

  • Happy The Cat

for those of you who dont know, whenever players swap life totals, technically the lower hp player gains life up the other while that player loses life down to the first, so technically this can combo with Exquisite Blood.(and I guess “players can’t gain life” effects as well)

  • Darkray Accel

    Sounds so troll for edh
