    Esper Death’s Shadow incoming

    • Caleb Halbrook

      Beat me to it

    • Random Guy

Because immediately going down to 1 life is definitely what you want to do every game with Death’s Shadow

(whether you’re serious or not I still want to post this)

      • Shagoth

You don’t use this card against Death’s Shadow, you use it in Death’s Shadow. Only really good against decks with Delve creatures.

        • Random Guy

I was implying you use it in Death’s Shadow…

you have to go down to 1-3 life for this card to be very useful in Modern. You can sideboard it in versus Delve if you want to go down to 6 life instead, sure, dunno if that’s much more efficient than just Path though.

    • Marvin Sürig

The hardest thing about this is: It works against Deathshadow as good as with it XD

  • Shawn Jeanty

Before you all start your rant I’m jk

  • Raven1man

Can’t wait for that Path reprint…………………………………..

  • Ryuji Nichol Pabila

    commander staple

    • Tolle

      In a format with 40 life… I doubt that

      • Shagoth

Did no one understand that he was joking? This is like when people used to comment on the gatherer about Bloodbond March or Pack Hunt being commander staples.

    • Mr.Mayhem631

      how tho

      • Shagoth

        it was a joke tho

  • Eli Eyal Broide

No shadow remains for you to hide in….

Killing Death’s Shadow with this is kinda cool :)

  • Alexandre Houplon

all decks who abuse of phyrexian mana need this

  • Arcus Diabolus

interesting little janky card there. I doubt it will ever be useful in standard, especially since the sudden shift toward tokens. Outside of standard tho, things get kinda interesting. Although even in a deck well suited for this, the only reason you’d run it is if you don’t have the budget to get Path to Exile, or you need more white cmc 1 exile spells on top of Path.

But its janky, and I love janky.

  • Giby86 .

    Selenia might want this.

  • Happy The Cat

I’d like to see a Wrath version of this, it might even be playable in edh for a niche late game sweep or a counter to voltron. not to mention what pay life decks like Vona could do with it. keep it at same cost and speed, might be good.

    • Kameenook

Wrath version at this cost and speed would be absurd. I think it’d be a cool design but it’d have to cost at least 1W, probably more like 1WW, and instant speed may be iffy

  • Ryan Sullivan

    Death’s shadow beware

    • Happy The Cat

why? Death’s Shadow decks specifically will be using this since it requires having lower health.

      • Ryan Sullivan

It’s something I’d board in against it in a control deck, easily.

        • Happy The Cat

But why? If DS already has bigger creatures than you do life you’ve probably lost. with StP and PtE you already have better options that don’t require you to be losing. the ONLY deck that benefits from this existing is Death’s Shadow, since it actually wants to get low hp. There is no reason to run this over existing removal in other decks.

Can’t exile your own Serra Avatar unless you boost her with something. That’s card inatvantage therefore bad card!

Never mind missed the “equal” part. This is actually just a card for that!
