1 ManaRed Mana: Sacrifice another Warrior, target player loses x life and you gain x life, where x is the sacrificed Warrior’s power.

  • tyke5140

    I’d play it.

  • Artheties

Seems good. I don’t play standard but this looks pretty playable

  • Seems like a good curve topper in W/B Warriors, especially when paired with Bloodsoaked Champion.

  • Ezra

Wouldn’t this be quite a combination with Goblin Rabblemaster while he’s beefed?

  • RedPandaRevolution

Excellent three drop for Warriors, though the 2 black could be a bit annoying if you’re trying to hit Chief of the Edge (or Scale I suppose) on turn 2 and it’d be nice if it wasn’t just “another Warrior”. But yeah, great synergy with Bloodsoaked Champion. Assuming you’ve attacked and have an Edge in play, you can deal 3 and gain 3 for every 2BB you have. Great mana sink if you’re staring down Rhinos or bigger without much to do. I definitely see this ending lots of games on turn 4/5. Love it.

  • Kameenook

I think this is kind of meh for the warriors deck.

    • Melissa Juice

This is a powerful finisher for warrior decks. It’s reach that wins games.

      • Kameenook

Yep I’ve done more imagining and it is good.

  • Cool

What you do is swing for the kill and anything that gets blocked gets sacked. Even if you don’t kill them, you’re still doubling the gap between you and your opponent’s totals. Went unblocked but still didn’t kill them? Double your money

  • Zombie

The problem with this in a Warrior aggro deck is that, sure, it does the damage immediately, but what is the real return?

Most of the Warrior creatures you’d be running are at most CMC 3, more often 1-2, and you’d do more damage in the long run by just keeping those creatures on the board to attack, instead of killing them for an immediate but low return value.

    • MrAptronym

Well when a warrior is blocked and would just die, trade for life.
When someone targets a warrior to destroy it, trade for life.
When your opponent has a board full of creatures and 3 life, win the game.

      • Zombie

But then that’s 2 mana you won’t have for a removal spell or more creatures. It’s not like the Warriors deck is teeming with mana to abuse.

It’s a fast and efficient deck and something that, while it provides a reach/evasion line for the deck, isn’t the best way to provide reach or evasion because it removes your threats from the table.

Sure, under perfect circumstances you can do those things, but what about during Warriors’ normal game scenario where they outpace their opponent? Why would you remove your threats from the board, intentionally slowing down your overall clock?

        • Ryx

Well you probably won’t use it’s ability all the time but against U/B control or Abzan midrange using hero’s downfall, bile blight, and drown in sorrow it’s useful. also it’s still a solid 3/3 for 3.

          • Zombie

That’s really the only situation where I would find it most useful is dodging stuff like Bile Blight.

But hopefully your creatures should already be able to dodge Drown in Sorrow via buffs.

    • Melissa Juice

The ability is just a finisher, really. You got in a bunch of damage and are now stalled/facing threats you can’t handle. Blow up the field and win.

    • FTV: Reserved List

I, like you, have never gotten my opponent to low health and them stabilize. Also, I have never needed to respond to lethal burn with lifegain. We are, truly, gods among men.

  • Dr. Burn Crow

Is it just me, or is the takeaway from the art and name that when she kills people, she then drinks their blood? If so, that’s pretty metal.

    • Melissa Juice

      This is pretty metal.

  • Something tells me this was translated incorrectly and the name should be something like “Blood Drinker Fanatic”
