Return target nonland permanent you don’t control to its owner’s hand.

Overload (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change its text by replacing all instances of “target” with “each”.)

The Izzet specialize in unnatural disaster.

  • Kenneth Mebus

Oh good lord. It’s not vapor snag, but it’s just as bad.

  • GreyMan820

this is will be annoying in edh

  • Mlundgoldstein

    Bounce ALL the creatures

  • indes

Why this is a rare is beyond me, it is just another Disperse with some expensive secondary ability.

    • yes you are right it should be uncommon or something. but this can pretty much be a game winning card. just cast this at the end of you opponents turn and you basically win the game in your turn…

      • Cloudenvy

Just wait until Simic. At the rate Green grabs lands and throws down powerhouses, this’ll be a game winner.

      • Highlander

and all such game winning cards are rare or mythic.
against most every deck (everything but non-permanent, or land based decks) this will provide you with the near perfect win condition if overload is used, another such card is Sudden Disappearance which is also a rare (cost is one less but this is an Instant), for the 7 cost mostly colorless it is very reasonable, even more so if cost reducers are used, such as Arcane Melee.

    • Luc

It’s either a disperse or a one sided, instant, hard casted devastation tide. Bant tokens I could see this fitting but we won’t see how strong it can be until the UG guild comes out

    • Firestorm75

This is not just a Disperse.. Its Disperse’s [email protected]$$ cousin!

    • SilverAlex92

      You answered yourself:

Its disperse with a secondary expensive game breaking ability that if resolves leaves only lands on your opponent’s side of the board, while your permanents are unharmed. If evacuation and devastation tide are rares, I dont see why a one sided version wold be uncomun.

Not every rare/mythic must be a “great card, low cmc” like snapcaster, lotus cobra or baneslayer

  • ……………FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

  • A guest

    Fits nicely under a scepter..

  • Jews

    This is insanely powerful.
Yes, it is expensive at the cost of 7.
But it not only bounces EVERY non-land permanent your opponent controls while leaving you totally unharmed. This is completely insane. I’ll be running a couple of those for sure.

    • Higa

It’s not just for one opponent either.

  • rev_shad

overload is such a great ability can’t wait to use it. but can’t decide between this one and Mizzium Mortars.

    • Firestorm75

Why choose, use both :) That’s what I’m doing, at least.

      • rev_shad

no room in my current Firemind deck which since i don’t do standered, it is just going to be improved. i’ll probably use this because it an Instant and it’s overload only has one colored so my Arcane Melees can lower it more and soon Goblin Electromancers

        • ricky

rev is really thinking overload this for just {U} so very mean

  • Buttery Raven

You see that no one is obsessing over the fact that it is instant. If it was a sorcery everyone would hate it.

  • FuntimeManchop

This is the spell I’ve been waiting my whole magic life for.
    Combos with Warped Devotion.

  • Wierdhans

Have been testing this card in a (from october) standard deck and it sure is sweet!
Its so nice to just bounce everything they own except their(there???) lands.
Has been a game winning card for me twice :D
    so nice I love it

  • vcdorantes

awww man… I just noticed that this won’t be able to save my Olivia Voldaren from the ocassional Oblivion Ring.

    • wpken

It will still bounce an O-Ring, but I assume you mean that it won’t be saved because they’ll just recast it, right?

      • vcdorantes

yup, that’s right. I’m still going to use one of this mainboard in my grixis control deck.
