This is what Beckett Brass EDH wants: cheap pirates to swarm and storm. I need more low cost pirates like this.

  • Grixis/Rakdos Pirates can swap Rigging Runner for this.

  • TezzeretofCarmot21

    Yeeeeeesssssssssssss my edh lovvvvves this

    • Tolle

Really? At best it is a vanilla 2/2 for 1. Not exactly exciting especially since you will rarely get this out turn 1 in commander.

  • Edward

Looks like this confirms a “reveal or pay” cycle. It is super aggressive and easy to get out turn 1.

  • TezzeretofCarmot21

Silvergill Adept except my Beckett Brass loves it more

  • Shagoth

I swear to god, this set is just Lorwyn/Eventide 2.0. It even gives buffs to Merolk, the tribe that needs them the least!

  • Happy The Cat

Well, he doesn’t have haste, so this fast pirate clearly isn’t committed to comin’ for that booty, but I guess a one mana 2/2 is already bonkers enough for WotC least favorite color.

    • Shawn Michael Diaz

Red is the only color to have viable mono-colored decks in practically every format.

      • Happy The Cat

red’s also considered the weakest color in Magic in practically every format.

        • Ashenmoor

You know you are terribly wrong, right?

        • Shawn Michael Diaz

By whom? Because it’s solid in every format except for Commander afaik.

  • Animar, Elemental Master

This is the red version of Kumena’s speaker, more like

  • Hedronal

Nice lore expression with a quote variant. What’s not to enjoy?

This and Rigging Runner enable one another for Ramunap Red. That package might need one more pirate besides Kari Zev though.

Honestly, it seems like the best non-red pirates are the blue flyers. It would be interesting to see a UR aggro/tempo deck.
