• Jacob Kodicovic

Wow. This guy is crazy, and an Inquisition of Kozilek and Transgress the Mind on a nice body is something I’d play

  • Erik Wong

Can’t wait to sac a Thought-Knot Seer to cast this guy

    • Pulverizerg

      brutal

  • Chris

Discarding two cards make this playable, since you can eek out ahead on card advantage.

  • Kaiser

“man, you have a bug on your hair…”

  • Zombie

Sacrificing a 3 drop to play this on turn 4 for 2BB is disgusting value.

Get a 5/5, eat two cards from your opponent’s hand, watch them cry.

    • Jay Kilian

If that 3 drop is a Geralf’s Messenger pre-undying it gets even better. I’m planning to run this in my Athreos deck to see how it goes.

      • Zombie

You just gave me a value-boner

    • Nolly

      -Matter Reshaper intensifies-

  • Kaiser

New favorite eldrazi of the block.

  • Julna Buras

……. These emerge cards are making me cry; they’re so terrifying if you even CONTEMPLATE playing against them.

  • kmk888

This is a messed up magic card. Easily the best emerge card thus far. However all the emerge cards thus far are really really good because they make up for the sacrifice with a brutal cast trigger.

I play GB Aristocrats right now and Collected Company is obviously the best card in it. However this card is so objectively powerful that it may still get a slot or two despite being a miss off of CoCo. After CoCo rotates this fall on the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if this earned a full 4 slots.

  • Bige Boiy

So, so flavorful. Infuses Innistrad’s Hunger for Brains with the eldrazi Inquisition of Kozilek.

  • traveler

play thought-knot seer. next turn sac it, then play this. eat up too 3 cards for 2. super value. more value for the eldrazi decks in modern and legacy

  • MBase

Then, after casting this early, you sac this to the new Eldritch Evolution and slam down Ulamog.

  • Graymalkin86

Very nice; gonna test this in Rakdos. Was hoping it was an Eldrazi Demon, though.

  • kk

IF you Mix… Flash, Emerge, Evoke Creature… It´s just non sense..

Things like Shriekmaw with evoke… respond to the trigger…

  • liolc

Kozilek Return is going to be a POWERHOUSE…
Sanctum of Ugin is going to be a Powerhouse…

It´s going to be so easy to trigger both cards… so easy!!

    Turn 3: Matter Reshaper
Turn 4: Cast Distended Mindbender – Sac Reshaper( trigger)…. Trigger a Sanctum of Ugin.. Search for another colorless creature… (Reality Smasher for example, or another new or big emerge creature)

Turn 5: Cast Reality Smasher( if your Reshaper trigger revealed a land earlier) attack for 10…

    This curve is absurd…

    • kmk888

Good point on the ways it interacts with those two.

    • Ben Driver

Reality Smasher is 5 mana cost and you sacrificed your land to trigger Sanctum of Ugin. So on turn 5 you would only have 4 land cards. Unless you had like a deathcap cultivator like turn 2 or something, but then your pushing the limits on you need to have very specific cards in your opening hand to make your idea work…

      • gg

        You forgott the Reshaper trigger…

“Turn 5: Cast Reality Smasher( if your Reshaper trigger revealed a land earlier)”

  • kmk888

I thought about it some more, and this card seems even more absurd to me. In particular, any game where you cast this on turn 4 on the play is not going to be a real game. A lot of the powerhouse cards in Standard are 4 mana so nabbing a Gideon or Collected Company before they can cast it and their removal spell before the creature ever hits the battlefield and provides a target is not right.

It might not be quite as powerful on the draw, but I know I want 4 copies of this in my deck every game that I’m on the play.
