    Reverberate with a body

  • Kameenook

    Badabuhbaba I’m lovin’ it.

  • Zombie

    Did someone say EDH staple?

Because if you did, Wizards heard you.

The only thing stopping Reverberate and cards like it from seeing all but fringe play was the fact they didn’t do anything else.

Now something has the same effect, for relatively the same cost, but now it’s on a decent body for that cost.

I like it. A lot. Any deck with Red that abuses ETB effects is going to love this, as will many other archetypes. Not to mention that I’m in love with the art style. It really feels like an old card that should have been made ages ago.

Thank you, zombie, for enlightening me to this card. I thought of it as a bad snapcaster but for red, that’s about as close to it as it will ever get. Nice card that goes infinite with heat shimmer, among others. Although I doubt I personally will use it in my RG deck because I don’t abuse ETB, red needed this.
Though you aren’t always right about cards and their respective power levels/playability, I do enjoy reading your thoughts about a card. Sometimes I think a card is great then I read your comment and see it for what it really is, or vice versa.
Keep doin what you do brother!

  • Chestnut Baron

That an artistic shout out to Fork in the background? :)

  • asdasd

    bad snappy, like it

  • MrAptronym

This is really powerful. I wonder if it could see play in other eternal formats even. Doesn’t seem vintage good but, its REALLY good.

  • Dr. Burn Crow

So probably getting the red and black EDH decks…that’s a card.

    • Kameenook

I agree but some of the other decks have good stand alone cards. But…………………I’m preventing myself from buying anymore magic products, if I didn’t I’d never do anything with my life.

      • Tzenmoroth

Playing and enjoying magic = Doing things with your life

        • Kameenook

Yes that is true, but in terms of money, I wouldn’t be able to control myself to do anything that costs money outside of magic.

  • selesnyawarden

That’s snapcaster’s brother!!, the Dualcaster mage, he’s not fooling anyone anymore,,,and I thought he was just being funny,, eRm ehem,,,copying spells instead of giving them flashback yeah right,, ha ha ha,,,oh, wait,, O-o WAT??

  • Bluemage

A Reverberate with legs, big deal.

    • Alex

Except it’s much easier to reuse and abuse. just for a quick example off the top of my head, cloudshift plus this with purphoros out is game over for everyone else. Just keep flickering him with the copies until you opponents are dead. Easy, early, three card combo kill.

      • ?????

Does it work though? I’m just guessing because Cloudshift will have already resoved for him to be entering the battlefield, so wouldn’t it not work? Maybe it only works if you cast Cloudshift and respond with this…

        • Rik

Somebody casts Cloudshift, in response you cast Dualcaster, then Dualcaster resolves, copying the Cloudshift, targetting itself, the copy resolves, blinking the Dualcaster. Then, repeat with the original cloudshift still on the stack.

          it works like a charm.

    • Alex

Actually bad second example, can just copy reverb lol.

  • asdasd

3 for one a force of will? potential for eternal formats?

    • Kameenook

I think it does, it might only be in storm decks, or in control decks, or just in some very weird sly deck. It seems to have a lot of value. Or in magical christmasland where you can cast a spell use snapcaster on it and dual cast it with this guy. I spend a lot of time in magical christmasland.
