Now this is a good vehicle. It has a tribal effect and helps crew itself by pumping up Pirates. I mean a 3/3 for 3 isn’t exciting but it pumps Pirates and causes your opponents to discard when it hits so it is at least decent.

    • Hedronal

The pump is also static, so not crewing still lets it do something.

      • Edward

Yeah it is basically an anthem that can also attack. At this point I just want some sort of “pirates gain x ability” effect and I will be happy. Menace would be nice for evasion or some sort of loot-on-damage effect.

        • Reyos Blackwood

We need a “Pirates gain whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card. If you do discard a card” Because what are pirates without LOOT.

          • Edward

Yeah that is exactly what I want. If we got an enchantment that gave that and Menace I would be very pleased with this set.

  • Bobit

Oh wait, it doesn’t loot, it makes your OPPONENT discard the card. Wow, this could be better than Copter.

    • Joshua Davis

I’m not sure if I’m hoping for that or not… I don’t want my pirate ship banned!

      • Bobit

Ok… it’s probably not better than copter. ;)

    • Chaospyke

Copter also a mana less, 2 crew less and had flying.
      This is balanced.

      • Bobit

Missed the mana part, thank you.

  • HeyHey

Now THIS is a Pirate ship.

  • Jay Kilian

I really want to see the original Pirate Ship reprinted. How can they not?

    • Hedronal

      Islandhome is not fun though.

  • Shagoth

Well that’s sweat! Vehicles are still strong!

  • Derek Mullins

I love that the anthem is static… It’s nice that you can have a vehicle not be crewed to do something

  • Camarouge

Let’s be real, this card is utter garbage compared to copter or heart of kiran. Copter has flying, costed 1 less to cast, and two less to crew. I’ll say the anthem and discard effect are equivalent to copter’s loot.

Wizards realized the power level of vehicles may have been a bit too high in kaladesh/aether revolt so they are being careful. Too careful. Mark my words: this probably won’t see standard play. A 3/3 for 3 that requires other creatures to tap to let it attack or block is not standard playable.
