  • Ultramegalord

Well…. colorless edh decks got a new land

  • richardshort2001

6 mana for 2 1/1 flyers once? Not that good even when topdecking, and Thopter tribal isn’t THAT good yet.

    • Melissa Juice

Thopters will be ending many a limited game. This will be a nice pick for that deck.

      • richardshort2001

Too many of the nice cards that want thopters are rare. I’m not seeing it making that big a splash even in limited. In limited I see this as a MAYBE in a deck that is either mono colored or has mana fixing. Only then if you really need flyers.

        • Melissa Juice

It’s limited. Everyone needs fliers. lol
Even the common/ cards that give one or two thopters will often be enough to ping them opponent down after a bit.

          • richardshort2001

Those common cards don’t help this card’s case. You can get one or two thopters for a whole lot more value with those, so why pick this?

And of course everyone “needs” fliers, but do you need 2 chump fliers for 6 mana enough to risk drawing this when you are short one of you mana colors?

          • Melissa Juice

In your average two color draft deck, it’s pretty unlikely that you won’t have the colors you need, especially with Evolving Wilds at common. Ideally, you’d pick this fairly late, just to have a land for early game that becomes threat when you no longer need it. Seems fun.

  • Abid D. Alexander

Wish it was an artifact land

  • Joris

    uhhg so bad

    • Magicalman

Honestly, I’m fairly certain this will see play in mono and two colored decks, cause instant speed chump blockers can save you a turn or so while you’re waiting to draw into something

  • Kaiser

    What? 5 mana for 2 thopter ? no even 3 or 4?

  • Magicalman

This is an average land in any deck. It is a high cost but it’s not supposed to be aggressive. It’s just so you have something to do when you are on the draw

  • Ultramegalord

Atleast you can do this at instant speed.

  • Happy The Cat

    it’s like blinkmoth
    but bad
    really bad
it shouldn’t make you sac it it would be good

  • Matthew Beaver

Alright I think it is obvious this isn’t going to be a standard, modern, legacy, or vintage card. (Well I kinda doubt it.) Now with limited this card isn’t that awful, in fact it is pretty good for the most part. Think about it this way. You are getting beat down by lets say a 5/5 or 6/6 flying demon. and you have this land and four other lands. You’re board is pretty bare and you need to topdeck something, playing a draft or sealed you probably using a pretty high land count, and you flip a land. Being able to eat this to stop a beatdown for a turn or two in the hopes of not dieing a horrible death. It isn’t an amazing card but it is a good limited card. Outside of limited, yeah it is pretty unplayable.

  • Mr.Q

This could be a very viable late game land for any WU control deck. You use it until you have enough mana to sac it before someone ends their turn and you get 2 1/1 as some form of a win condition.

  • Kameenook

    2 thopters, it’s OK.
