    This seems way better than ramp tends to be for 3 mana. Maybe better than it is supposed to be. Yes, it is definitely conditional, but the cost is low enough that playing it with 2 creatures on the board still feels good. I suspect the condition will be a bit rougher than it seems at first, optimistic, glance, but the potential here is huge. In some EDH decks it’ll practically drop a third of your deck onto the battlefield.

      edit: 6 lands, 3 mana from creatures so 9 mana on turn 3

    I think there’s a glitch in the matrix. This is way too good imo. A playset of this card won’t be cheap since this is gonna basically be the best ramp spell in standard.

    I guess this is what they replace one mana mana dorks with — playable land ramp sorceries.
    Though I don’t think this will be a powerhouse on its own, there needs to be a good deck around it, and modern elves is not that deck.

      that is the only relevant spell in standard i can think of aven mindcensor being used for. you aren’t going to main or sideboard a card like aven mindcensor just for this card.

      edit: also they could just go first, play a 1 drop and then a servo exhibition then this turn 3, you don’t have the chance to play aven mindcensor and they’re at 5-6 lands

          Well it limits traverse, but ooooo scary … there really isn’t even any reason to sb Aven … right now (only hits attune, this or traverse and decks usually run one or the other)

    Relevant cards IMO – Loam Dryad, Ornithopter..

          According to that logic, if the only ramp card in standard costs 7 and searches your deck for a single basic land card and puts it on the battlefield, it is good because it’s the best ramp card in standard? According to a good logic, my logic, it is still bad. Now, where did I say this card was bad? GW is garbage because that color combination has no good removal (I don’t consider stasis snare and cast out as good).

            yeah, i wouldn’t actually play this with Sram’s Expertise or expect that matchup to happen, i was just having a laugh about it. Meanwhile, Harvest Season is still good anyway cause it gets you LANDSSSSSSSSSS

            It only gets you lands in a deck you can attack early on with. And that kind of deck does not care about having much more than 3 lands, especially if it means doing nothing on turn 3 and having a card less in hand. The other option is to play dudes that tap for mana, this seems the best place for Harvest Season to be in, but there is no good 1 mana elvish mystic-like card right now, plus those strategies would suffer against many heavily played cards right now (like fatal push).

        I promise you that mardu vehicle deck won’t be the way to go anymore.

          I promise you that the only decks this guy will be playing against that run either Authority of the Consuls or Thalia will be Mardu on Thalia or just random bads, regardless of weither mardu is still the best deck or not. Now, about Mardu, the only cards that hurt them are Manglehorn, Magma Spray (a little), Harsh Mentor (costs 2) and Censor (they can play around it). Other than manglehorn that basically does the same as a 3-mana Release the Gremlins, but that makes artifacts enter the battlefield tapped (not as relevant for Mardu, unlike Saheeli) and Release the Gremlins is a 1-off against good Mardu players, plus that deck is so resilient it can adapt and go in multiple directions.

    That’s a powerful engine. The deck that best abuses this may have it’s own place in Standard or Modern. In Standard I’m starting to see some things connect between Cryptolith Rites, Throne of the God Pharaoh, and this.
