Seems good in graveyard based commander decks like Alesha and Marchesa.

  • Chris Orchard

    Why is this a rare?!

    • Kaiser

cause makes anything better and also gives you the option of used or not used it.

    • DJpad

Because it can kill people out of nowhere in limited.

      • Shagoth

This seems too weak in limited. One creature, +2 each turn, as it eats your board.
Frankly, I’d rather have always watching in limited.

    • MTG420

Booster packs are designed around how often something should appear in limited.

  • Jordan

  • Nebulium

Eh, could be decent in a Brion deck. That ball lightning was going to die anyways, and you were just going to pitch it at their face before that. Still, I’m not 100% on board with it.

  • Jay Kilian

How would this work with Dash? Would the creature return to your hand first or sacrifice first? This also works as a decent sac outlet for Aristocrats.

    • Jay Kilian

Also, works well with multiple combat phases. You could pump the same creature twice.

    • KrakenHunter

Since you control both effects you chose which one comes first. so I suggest you return it to your hand

    • Derek Mullins

I believe you just have to stack it correctly. It reminds me of the exile effect with Obzedat and whip of Erebos.

  • Kahai

    Infinite Maelstrom Wanderers! :D

Actually, i prefer to use Flameshadow Conjuring to cast Wanderer multiple times per turn. :D

  • Jordan

Great in Feldon EDH but that’s not standard…

  • NC

So THIS is how we give Combat Celebrant haste.

    • Mov

Nah the red cartouche is how we give the celebrant haste. This is awful jank.

“Get your own damn elves and ball lightning” – Wotc

  • Ultramegalord

Seems bad….. unless you are running a grab the reins fling deck….then it’s a HILARIOUS 4 of

  • Happy The Cat

huh, so, on this plane SED(sudden explosion disease) is a good thing, like gift from the gods good.
good compared to what red normally gets, calling it as bulk rare but $3 foil for edh jank

    • Kaiser

You need to admit that is a very red gift (?)

      • Happy The Cat

well, that’s the main symptom of SED, a large favoritism towards mountains and red heads wearing goggles.

        • Kaiser

You go to immolate yourself for the grace of our lord dragon master?

  • MTG fan

This is a good card with embalm creatures. Use Hazoret’s favor to go aggressive at the beginning, then use the embalmed creature tokens again with haste thanks to Hazoret’s favor. This also goes great with wrangle or act of treason. Wait a minute– Kari’s Expertise. Oh geez. This actually looks fun to play with in standard.

    • Tezzybros

You forgot a card from another place and time.
breath of fury. + exert + this

  • Scathain

Great for steal/sac decks, otherwise I wouldn’t use it.

  • NothingSpecial

This is the type of card that I can see can be built effectively around in most constructed formats to at least be _interesting_ (not yet sure if “good”), but I would hate, really hate, pulling it in limited.

    • Mov

I’m going to open it at least 4 times in limited – I know it :(

Fling being reprinted really made me want to try Pummeler again. This DEFINITELY makes me want to try Pummeler again.
