More slanted towards offense over Curse of the Swine, but there are plenty of times I wouldn’t mind exiling one of my opponent’s creatures for a 4/4 flier. Even better if I turn one of their big ones and one of my small ones. Still, the biggest advantage? Instant. Use it on an attacking creature for defense, or to get a surprise beefy blocker, or just to turn a creature you were losing into a 4/4 flier. I think I prefer this over the curse, but it doesn’t fit Pongify’s niche.

If you have 2 creatures, you can turn them into 2 4/4 fliers at end of your opponents turn for only 3UU and swing for 8 out of no where. Plus its utility against larger creatures or GODS! Its a powerful card, but it feels like it can only work in certain decks.

U/W heroic devotion? Use the dude that reduces aura costs and the new blue guy that reduces strive costs.

Blue suddenly has exile as a way to transform creatures? Why? I mean, it’s awesome, and giving your opponent a 4/4 flyer is really bad most of the time (at least in non-EDH formats), but does it really fit blue in the color pie?

    • MrAptronym

I think so. Flavorwise it is transmutation, not an exile and then replacement. Its not a sudden thing either, it traces its roots way back to Polymorph in mirage. At least that’s the first one I can think of. Think of it this way, blue is the master of shapechanging, with clones and illusions and the like, this is just blue making a more offensive use of that skill.

has anyone seen what the sphinx tokens look like?
