• Jonathan Reynolds

What a nice alternative to X cost draw spells for the Taigam, Ojutai Master deck I’m making.

  • Jude

Expensive but at the same time new grip no downside outside of 7 card maximum handsize. Its at least commander playable in some decks like mizzix narset yidris….if we see heavy ramp or–dear god this is legal with wildfire eternal. Oh christ izzet spellslinger lives

  • Shagoth

Ooh, draw seven common, I like it.

    • Derek Niles

this is a rare, unless you meant something else?

      • Shagoth

        Oh, darn, it looked black.

    • Deadly Berry

This one is a rare, not a common; I do find disturbing the fact that you got excited over the possibility. Just imagine limited…

      • Shagoth

        Oh, darn, it looked black.
Limited mill must become a thing! I don’t like running out of cards in limited, and I do even when I try to make a deck that keeps cards in hand.
I just liked the draw seven as common idea because it’s a) mile stone and b) pauper legal. Alas, my dreams are crushed.

  • MithosFall

    I’m gonna say instant.

    • Deadly Berry

There’s no way this could be an instant.

      • MithosFall

Yeah, you’re probably right. It’d be nice for control though, lol.

  • Deadly Berry

I don’t read target player anywhere. Could be target opponent, you never know. #kappa

    • Happy The Cat

target planeswalker you control draws seven cards
(you cannot cast spells drawn by planeswalkers you control)

  • Happy The Cat

it says draw 7, it’s good enough to see play in my Tomorrow EDH. gonna have to see a bit more to tell what other decks will play it though.

  • jaya

If its sorcery theres alrdy plenty of better choices, if its instant…Bankers!

  • theEternalPilgrims

likely says target player draws seven. who knows if this is instant or sorcery speed though. that’s what really matters. (you can mill someone out with this. some draw spells only let the caster draw cards. but it appears there is enough space on the card for it to say target)

    • Marvin Sürig

I bet on Instant because otherwise its really overcosted :/ Monoblue could easily draw a lot with
      Flow of Ideas.

      • Kaiser

Torrential GH is a a big reason for made this sorcery

  • Kevin Johnstone

combos with that 1/4 they spoiled “if its not blocked you may cast an instant/sorc from your hand without paying its cost”

fckkkk…. also; brain in a jar ftw.

Would have been AMAZING to hit this off Marvel

    • TogetherAlone

brain in a jar rotates unfortunately

    • Marvin Sürig

Trust me there is a better card than this to cast with the 1/4 Jackel ;)

  • Marvin Sürig

I saw the picture where many of the spoilered cards were shown. The first letter seamed a bit like an S. I’m still not 100% sure but my hopes for this card are down :/

  • DarthinvaderIX

    Oh hey, sprint!

    • Revotor

      Sprint is draw 4

  • JonT

Not sure why everyone is saying this is over-costed. It draws 7 cards for 7 mana. That’s right on par with every other slightly better than average card draw spell (1 mana = 1 card drawn). There’s a few cards that have broken this rule, but they generally have drawbacks (suspend or putting cards back on top of library). Also I’m betting Sorcery.

    • Raven Knight Vincent

It’s overcosted because it’s in a game where you don’t get 7 resources by turn seven consistently. In games where you can get to 7 resources consistently (like Duel Master), it might be decent. In addition of this existing in a game where counterspell is a thing, it’s pretty much overcosted.

      • JonT

I’m not saying it’ll be played a ton (although these treasures could make ramping strategies rampant). Especially outside of Standard…. But it’s clearly on par with what drawing a card should cost. Anything under 7 mana would be under-costed; and anything under 6 mana would be broken without some kind of drawback.

  • ShammySham

This cannot be instant because Torrential Gearhulk exists, especially in standard. Although that doesn’t completely rule out it being an instant, for balance reasons, it should not be. A control deck drawing seven cards is equivalent to winning in many cases. Combo decks also enjoy drawing excessive cards.

    • Shagoth

IDK, a seven mana spell should win in my book. It’s a lot of mana even for a control deck.

      • Shawn Michael Diaz

You could just mill it and Torrential. That’s what Sham is trying to say.

      • TogetherAlone

Except with torrential it would be a 6 mana spell that also grants you a 5/6 body. That sounds broken af to me.

      • Revotor

You already have that: Approach of the second sun. But you need to draw 7 cards to find it. Hmm.

  • Ryan Cameron

Not a suprise it being sorcery, but this is now a mythic really?

    • Shawn Michael Diaz

This set feels costed assuming everyone will be playing treasure. We’re all gonna have to spam mana to make the set appropriately costed

    • Raven Knight Vincent

It’s made for “Timmy”. They’re the people who likes to play big stuff.

  • Ultramegalord

So who else is getting dejavu? The artifact is feeling a lot like the mirari to me.. one of Karns probes gone off kilter again…..

  • Julian Michael Allen

it just got spoiled as Overwhelming Insight, is a sorcery and says “target player draws seven cards”
it’s…well it’s a big blue draw spell. i feel like i know what might like it but at the same time….7 mana and triple blue? i feel like the dream is to go red blue spellslinger and hit this with the enchantment that lets you reveal X from the top and cast spell with cmc X or less off the top where X is the cmc of casted spell that initiated the trigger, so you get something /and/ a full grip but at the same time im just not feeling the actual use for the card….but it is very blue

  • Moon Knight

    Crappy mythic ahoy

  • chataolauj

Someone out there will make use of this card.

    • Juuso Tiirakari

      Yep, a goblin named Mizzix.

      • Tolle

Honestly… meh… Mizzix has better things to do with his time.

        • Dave

          *her

          • Tolle

I was unaware of that, thank you

          • Dave

I only learned it recently as well. Sometimes it’s hard with those goblins. Still not sure about Wort, since from flavour text it seems that “Auntie” is more of a neutral rank description or something. :)

          • eltratzo

well her other card ist wort, raidmother. which while it still could be a title does also imply her being female.

          • Dave

Yeah, also the Aurora happened and who knows everything that did, maybe Auntie’s male and Raidmother is female…
Still, it seems to be 95% sure Wort’s female. Hopefully someday we’ll know it 100%.

  • Shagoth

Should have been a common. I don’t care about limited, I mean look at this card, and look at all of the simple card draw sorceries that just say “draw __ cards.”

  • sansmyhands

Ramp, U/G in particular, is seeming pretty pushed in this set and while I’m not holding my breath, nothing would make me happier than seeing a viable U/G deck in standard that can actually snap one of these off in the midgame and just snowball the opponent.

  • Traveler

Hear me out, cheeky idea, but play this in legacy over grislebrand in omnishow. Might be worth testing. Other then that maybe high tide? Those are the only 2 decks I see that could maybe make use of this. Thoughts?

    • Dr. Gitrog Crow

Griseldaddy draws you 14 cards immediately tho, and if he gets a hit in before you kill them or he dies, draws you another 7.

      • Traveler

True but when dig through time was legal iremoved all grisledaddys for that and it worked just fine, I would even argue its better against the burn match up, plus its another card for force of will fodder if you need it. Not saying its game breaking, but now that I look at this it might be worth testing

        • Mr.Mayhem631

Dig Through Time also cost 2 mana. This is only good if cheated out and draws half as many cards.

    • DJ Pad

Griselbrand also works with show and tell if you don’t have omniscience, this does not.

  • Evil Tactics

So bland for a mythic. Should have added some other minor effect, or add some scry to it.

  • Robert FakeLastName

this would be hilariously good in control if only it was instant.

    • Alexandre Donnart

It would just be dumb with Gearhulk.

  • Perfect for my Maelstrom Wanderer CMD Deck <3

  • Happy The Cat

good thing there’s no way to make instants and sorceries cost less.
oh hey Baral and Primal Amulet, how are you two doing?

  • SnazzyPenguin

Can’t wait to see someone be killed by this

  • Zombie

    1. Why is this Mythic

    2. Why does this exist

    3. Wizards stop
