  • Arcus Diabolus

    Ok. THAT is cool.

  • Devon Ronald MacInnis

I think this has a place in vampire madness

    • Daniel Kaine Allen

Hmm, what gives you that idea lol

      • Bige Boiy

because it’s a vampire and has madness

  • Michael Perlov

i think it’s broken. Don’t know how yet. Dismember should rise in price because of it

    • xxxx

Because affinity has no cards in hand by turn 2-3

  • Edward

I am pretty sure that this confirms Ludevic and this thing is outrageous. I love it so much

    • Hedronal

Ludevic has been on many flavor texts in both Innistrad blocks.

      • Edward

I know that but this seems very much like they are setting up for him. They have referenced him enough over the years and he is supposed to be insanely smart and can create things no one else on the plane can. Also he hasn’t gotten a card yet so it would make sense for him to get one on the return to the plane.

        • Hedronal

That doesn’t make this anything like the confirmation you said though, just set-up of what could be or not be him.

          • Edward

When I said it “confirms” him I meant that it appears they are setting up for him to be announced. He may get announced today because they are announcing something fairly big because on the Eldritch Moon official page for week 2 it has a single card left blank with “coming 6/30” written under it. It could be him or something else relevant the the story. I really just am hoping it is him because it would be a shame if he didn’t get a card this time around

          • Hedronal

That’s not what confirms means. If something has been confirmed, it means that the relevant party, in this case Wizards of the Coast, has specifically stated that something is the case.

Something that might be set up for announcement is not confirmed, it is partially supported speculation.

          • Edward

I was using “confirmed” loosely. We don’t know if he will be in the set but it can be speculated given the cards in the set already spoiled that he will be. If they don’t that is really just bad set design on their part considering how smart he is and the things he can create. He is one of the best people on Innistrad and has been mentioned plenty of times

          • Hedronal

Confirmed is not a loose word. It’s an easily checkable boolean word, meaning that something is a way for sure. If it’s something unknown, it is not confirmed in any sense of the word. As much as I hope for Ludevic to get a card as well (I have since Innistrad 1), it’s not confirmed until WotC says so.

        • Hedronal

I do hope for Ludevic too, but he’s far from confirmed as a card.

  • Kaiser

    A megazord wolf…Ludevic…you are a GENIUS!

  • Dr. Burn Crow

The hell? Really??? It’s awesome, but what the actual hell, Ludevic.

  • Jay Kilian

    Joins Affinity and maybe 8-rack?

    • Thomas Happ

8 Rack doesn’t neccesarily want creatures with cards like Smallpox, and leaves the opponent with creature removal it can’t use. However Nyxathid sometimes sees play, so it is possible

  • Khan1104

What Is this card I don’t even XD

  • Derps

    I. Dig. Gi-ant ro-bots~
    You. Dig. Gi-ant ro-bots~
    We. Dig. Gi-ant ro-bots~
    Chicks. Dig. Gi-ant ro-bots~

    .u./ nice~

    • Coop

      I gets it

  • Jay Kilian

Lol, it loves One With Nothing.

    • Kahai

    • Kahai

Though this pretty much guarantees they are not reprinting One with Nothing, despite being PERFECT for this block…

      • kmk888

Could we get Delirium Skeins tho?

        • Kahai

Seriously, it even uses the word Delirium… FFS Wotc, it isn’t hard to make a good set…

  • Jin-Gitaxis

finally a use for one with nothing.

    • Kahai

As I yelled below, NEEDS REPRINT!

  • Bob

  • MrAptronym

Hell. yes. Robo werewolf. I am sold. On the whole set. Right now. Give me this card. Works well for mono-black? I am using an infect build I enjoy though :/

  • kmk888

Why is this card not a vampire? Why is it an artifact? Why is the only wolf part a decapitated head? Because dreams don’t make sense. Sometimes you go to school in a taco costume and that’s totally normal.

Also jeezus they made affinity and the 8rack decks better in modern with one fell swoop

    • Kahai

      Stop it.

Don’t make me figure out who you are on MTGSalv’s forums… STOP IT!

      • kmk888

Ha. Guilty as charged. It shouldn’t be difficult though. It’s the same username.

        • Kahai

I was just writing that i just noticed that you use the same Username. LOL

It’ll be harder to find me! MUAHAHAHAHA!

    • Bacon

It’s a reference to the Russian Dog-head experiments, and probably Rick and Morty.

  • Bige Boiy

    M E C H A W O L F

  • Ryū

I shall now proceed to shed a single tear.

  • Zombie

I want so badly for this to be Modern/Legacy playable with decks that ditch their hands, but those decks already play bigger/better creatures and win conditions.

I don’t know if this thing will ever have a home. It’s pretty cool though.

But can you imagine having this in play on a T1 Lion’s Eye Diamond combo turn?

    • Vizzerdrix

a pack rat deck for modern? also one with nothing decks though it wont happen
Also id be interesting if affinty cares about it. i know mine is more casual but i dump my whole hand t1-t2

      • Zombie

I doubt Affinity would pick this up, they already have unconditional threats.

The biggest issue with this card is that it’s 2 mana: do nothing until someone runs out of cards.

By the time it turns on, it’s probably not going to be relevant, unless you can turn it on by turn 3.

        • Vizzerdrix

Well I prob could but mine is artifact lands frogmites and lotus petals so I can super easily play this turn 1 and be hell bent turn 2, and honestly this is prob worse that just playing ensoul artifact as far as modern is concerned

          • James Harris

ensoul artifact is a non-artifact card in affinity, costs blue, and risks being two-for-oned while on the stack. prototype does not have these downsides, but it also doesn’t have the potential to be keyworded with flying or indestructible. I would say its worth a test slot in affinity and in bushwacker zoo.

  • Corey Reks Anderson

    rick and morty references galore

    • Dr. Burn Crow

      He calls himself Snowball.

      • munkeemanometal

Because his fur is pretty and white.

    • Jonathan Mueller

Ludevic is actually a Rick that decided to hang around Innistrad to protect himself from the Galactic Federation by creating Homunculi-Morties, and the dream Geralf is referring to is merely Snuffles’s dream that Rick once infiltrated with his inception device.

      • Hedronal

        That makes surprisingly much sense.

        • Jonathan Mueller

It’s almost uncanny if you consider this:

That Rick might even be a Rick we know – Cronenberg Rick to be exact, which got Eldrazified from Emrakul’s presence.

Admittedly, we don’t know yet what will happen to Ludevic, but it would be hilariously fitting, especially if it should somehow turn out that the Eldrazification-process could be undone to most of its “victims” – yet that Rick refused as he saw an advantage in this and managed to retain his old conscience.

    • munkeemanometal

      “Where are my testicles Summer?”

  • Nolly

    Combos with Avaricious Dragon :)

    • Vizzerdrix

not entirely, youll have a 5/5 blocker unless you can play the extra cards you wont be able to attack. also it pressues you to play cards in your first main phase leaving your opponent more oppurtunity to play spells during combat without worrying about you having answers, but the dragon makes it easier at least

  • juan

    Has science gone too far…?

  • Son Goku

Fun flavor with the mad SCIENCE!, but the amount of work you’d need to do in order to make this thing useful seems too much. If you’re running creatures with ramp, use Myr Superion instead. If you’re not, even a dedicated discard deck is going to find this guy useless a little too often to justify it, I think. I’d just Fling him.

Of course, someone might have a more reliable way to use this, so I am not going to be surprised if someone corrects my assessment.

    • Vizzerdrix

if you get your self hellbent you can prob stay hellbent pretty easily, if its a land you can play it, a creature will not the best you can do it during your first main phase, spells get a little more complicated but you can find a way to get it to work
as for your oppent staying hellbent not as easy but they are more likely to hold spells if you play the wolf so it can be kinda controlish as well which is nice

      • Son Goku

I suppose it’s doable. It’s a lot of work to go through, but in a hellbent-focused deck, he’d find a natural home. Though that means on turn two you’re throwing something out that won’t have any effect for probably at least a turn, most likely longer.

  • Deadly Berry

A wolf construct? what else are we getting?!?!? This set gets better and better.

  • Blahblahblahbla

I want to play this just for the art.

  • Kevin Grant

    Into the vampires???

  • Brian Schmidt

I have only recently paid attention to spoiler seasons. But this seems awfully long and no Planeswalkers have been spilled. Seems a bit odd and unorthodox. Not sure if they have always done it like this.

    • De’Elgathor

There might only be one planeswalker this set, although printing a second one would allow for them to balance the current colors of the planeswalkers we have. A Liliana is basically guaranteed, so they’re in no rush to milk the suspense, and a Tamiyo is expected by some.

      • ashton

tamiyo has been spoiled as a bant card with omnipotence as it’s ult

    • Timothy Zaccagnino

Theyve ben doing the access magic videos each week, and i believe they said they were holding liliana spoiler for next monday. Usually theres a 5 planeswalker limit per block, we might only get the one. We’ll see

    • oblivion sower

Spoiler Season is always like this. It’s two weeks long and starts 3 weeks before prerelease. They spoil cards as they see fit, and planeswalkers are a very small percentage of cards.

  • GreyVulture

This doesn’t look bad in affinity knowing that your hand is often empty by turn 2 or 3

    • Jordan Albert

Agreed, but as an Affinity player, I probably wouldn’t play it simply because I can’t constantly enough have zero cards in my hand, as my deck stands now. Plus, for two mana, Steel Overseer and Archbound ravager will almost always be stronger, however, it’s a pretty sweet budget option.

  • Mr.Mayhem631

Art is not good up close.
    Card is.

    • ashton

      I disagree

  • Chompchomp

  • oblivion sower

Hearthstone has Shielded Minibot, MTG has Lupine Prototype. It’s quite obvious who the winner is

  • Melissa Juice

    Holy sh*t. Amazing.

  • Poro Vlad

Oh my god in my Mono B Rack

  • wwww

5/5 for two looks awesome for fast (yolo) aggro decks that spits their whole hand in the first 3 turns.

  • MTGFanatic

Werewolf in an Ironman suit. :)

    • Atom Ammar

ZOMBIE WEREWOLF in an Ironman Suit… even cooler

  • Happy The Cat

first of all it’s a robot werewolf. if it was a six mana 5/5 we wouldn’t mind it for awesomeness.
however this is a 2 mana 5/5, sure it has a pacifism on it unless someone is hellbent but you can still use it for stuff like Mercy Killing or Korozda Guildmage or Elemental Mastery just to swarm people with tokens quickly

  • Benjamin Simonds

Nicol Bolas EDH deck for days

imagine this is bushwacker zoo (for example)where u are almost always without cards in turn 2 or 3 .. this card has potential , btw this set is the best i have seen in eternal playability huge uncommons!

  • Kamelontti

    8-rack and this? possibly.

  • Phoenix UNBENCHED

This card is so badass yet so funny; he literally put on so much armor that he can’t move xD

  • Edward

This card gives me hope for a Geralf’s Masterpiece deck in standard. We will have to wait until next week to be sure but it seems promising
