• schemerboy

in a clues deck this could be a thing

    • TomGalonska

I want to build this sooooo badly. Bant investigate… :D Inspector into Erdwal illuminator into tracker into … Sounds like fun. And this is just the first idea…
      You also could build esper-fabricate

      • Thomas Luffman

No use sultai investigate. You get contraband kingoin, tezzeret, master of metal, and battle at the bridge. I could see replacing green with red though. It depends on how often second harvest or confront the unknown gets the job done.

    • eltratzo

it could be. it still gives the opponent a turn to handle it though. and as an aura it is rather easy to handle.

  • TomGalonska

Wait, this works for clues, servos, anything, right? And the eight copies don’t have to be enchanted artifact, right? DAFUQ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Heartless Zio

    Myr Battlesphere?

  • Chris Demetralis

Could still be an artifact creature, so you can put this on some artifact creature and them clone it a bunch of times xD

  • Stinker289

So this set has another mycosynth lattice win condition? Crazy.

  • Scathain

I could easily see this being a thing. The alternate win condition would work in thopters/servos/clues/lattice and copying enchanted artifact each turn they don’t have removal could be crazy.

  • Anonymous

    Breya combo edh says hello

  • Ultramegalord

I want to put this on darksteel citadel!

  • Jackson Means

Wait wait wait, is this implying that walkers don’t even walk? It looks like they have wheels…

    • Jackson Means

Maybe they’re only on wheels for the production line?

  • Blarg Honk

Once upon a time I had friends, but then I cast this on Myr Battlesphere, had a Shimmer Myr down, and ETB flashed in Sculpting Steel and Phyrexian Metamorph with my left over mana, just for good measure.

  • Happy The Cat

Ha… haha… muh ha ha HA!
This is wonderful! It doesn’t even say non token on the card!
Oh to edh brew pot you go my beautiful child!

    • Robert FakeLastName

well if it did it couldn’t work. unless it was enchant nontoken artifact.

      • Happy The Cat

That is what I mean, think about what myr or even just servos or clues could do with this! If it said enchant target nontoken artifact you control it would greatly limit this cards ability to win games in a single turn, but as is if you let any artifact deck make a swarm you will lose.
This card makes things like Rite of Replication even more terrifying, which I am completely okay with.

        • Robert FakeLastName

you can’t forget that the winning name does not need to be enchanted either.

        • eltratzo

well you will nearly always (barring vedalken orrery) get a full turn to react and usually either enchantment or artifact removal will suffice and with tokens even crature removal is a valid option. it also does nothing the turn you play it. it’s quite probably a strong card but there are plenty of ways to prevent it from winning your opponent the game.

  • Robert FakeLastName

this can get a bit carried away with thopter tokens in edh. and i don’t think the 8 names need to be of the enchanted creature either… rite of replication comes to mind too. thopter foundry + sword of the meek.

    • Richard Carter

lol with a Tolarian Academy also or an ashnods altar you could put out all 8 on one turn easy, sharding sphinx would help you get there too but not as well and then the mana consumption is higher but you could mitigate most of it with chief engineers.

      • Robert FakeLastName

tolarian academy is banned in every relevant format and 1 in vintage. not reliable enough to dream about.

  • Derek Mullins

Definitely seeing a UGx deck with this, second harvest, and maybe saheeli’s artistry… Imagine ramping into gearhulk shenanigans, then copying everything… Could even be metallurgic summonings

  • Arcus Diabolus

Guys… why did you print this in the block after clue tokens, or better yet in the block that already has decent servo and thopter spam? there is literally no way this isn’t going to be played in any format.

  • Rafel Díaz Mir

Darksteel citadel and copy with: vesuva or sclupting Steel or phyrexian metamorph or thespian’s stage.

Play control and protect the enchant. Win free manas!

  • Derek Niles

Why isn’t this “non-token”?! Oh well, I love it lol

  • mehngo

Oh, the fun of winning via Etherium Cells~

  • Scott Fridinger

    Shatterstorm reprint please.

  • Shagoth

The easiest “you win” card to win with because it doesn’t say non-token.

    • Jakob Schneider

It only triggers on your upkeep, though.

If you have eight instances of anything, particularly creature tokens, using an Overrun-type of card for an alpha strike seems far more reliable (and works with less tokens, too.)

      • Shagoth

        Forgot about Laboratory Maniac
Didn’t say it was easy. My point is that it’s easier that it’s easier than cards like Coalition Victory, Mortal Combat, Helix Pinnacle, Epic Struggle, and some white cards that are tough to trigger unless you have a BS advantage with an extra twenty life in EDH.

    • Daniel Kaine Allen

You’ve obviously never made your friends hate you by playing a mazes end deck.

      • BlockOnBlocks

        ^ Absolutely right.

        • Him

          See pg2, scapeshift

  • kmk888

It loses power on generating tokens on upkeep instead of end step, but it’s still really powerful. I see it as a good wincon not only because it says “win the game” but also because the longer it stays in play the more advantage it generates and the less likely the opponent can catch up. It also doesn’t cost you anything after the turn you cast it and could be extremely difficult to interact with depending on your choice of targets, so it stands alone well and lets you focus on playing reactively.

IMO the best target for this besides the obvious crude power of a gearhulk or with a token you already have a bunch of is a noncreature artifact that generates advantage when it enters or helps stabilize the board. For example a mere Prophetic Prism would be pretty great. If you can survive long enough to cast the two, you can just focus on defense with the assurance that you have a wincon online and you’ll be drawing 2 cards a turn to help you last long enough for it to win. Another example is Deadbolt Trap. The more Deadbolt Traps you have, the less likely your opponents can attack with anything and kill you in time. Glimmer of Genius and Aether Meltdown also help fuel your Traps. Such targets could make it a good fit for decks like Control or Metalwork Colossus.

  • Tolle

Servos, myrs, clues, any artifact token. This doesn’t need to be the case with an artifact you enchanted. Also, this on a panharmoticon or a gearhulk would be funny :P

  • Zombie

Followed Footsteps for artifacts is pretty sick, imho. On top of that, it has its own win condition built in.

This could be hilarious if you accelerate the process by hitting whatever you enchanted with a Kicked Rite of Replication.

  • Max Castle

wait, could you use this on an artifact land?

    • Rovkir Hexus

Well, is it an artifact? > Yes

Yes, you can enchant your Darksteel Citadel.

    • Daniel Kaine Allen

      Technically yes

  • Soren Szilver

relentless rats + this plus + Mycosynth Lattice

    • DJ Pad

Or you know, just play something that makes a bunch of clues/servos/thopters. Seems a lot easier.

      • Soren Szilver

that would be much to easy, relentless rats it bonus style points!

        • Happy The Cat

but you could just play swamps and have the same effect, as long as you control 8 swamps you win the game.

          • Richard Carter

Vaults would work not swamps it specifically says arti’s

          • Happy The Cat

Mycosynth Lattice would gladly let you continue this argument.

        • DJPad

Just turn them sideways then and win. No need to play enchantments that do the same thing but worse.

        • Him

  • Daniel Kaine Allen

So I’m thinking this plus panharmonicon plus doubling season.

    • Bregisdog

Panharmonicon wouldn’t add anything to that, but the other two work great together.

      • Daniel Kaine Allen

Am I not allowed to like panharmonicon?

      • Daniel Kaine Allen

But seriously though panharmonicon is more or less for going with whatever else you have in the deck to assist with making more tokens since those will be the easiest way to win with mechanized production.

  • potatogod442

How China win the trade war. Kappa

  • Insight66

A walker, a walker! My city for a walker!

  • Daniel Kaine Allen

Sudden revelation… this, mana vault, and paradox engine.

Wait but isn’t Dovan Baan a good guy? And who are the 8 Walkers? I can only name 7 who are on kaladesh (part from him and tezzy)…

    • Daniel Kaine Allen

By walkers I think he is refering to titans, like the gearhulks.

    • Ural

What is bad about fighting a group of insurrectionists and terrorists?

  • Eli Eyal Broide

Bant tokens: This + Growing Ranks + Doubling Season + Paradox Haze… maybe target a clue or an artifact land

    • Random Guy

way too slow and risky. Better to throw this in with counter spells.

  • Xiangyu Chen

Um… What happens with clues? They are artifacts, basically good game then…

    • Happy The Cat

if you control 8 or more artifacts with the same name you win the game.
tokens are named whatever they are ie a kor soldier would be named kor soldier, even if it’s creature type would change.
also this doesnt have to be on the permanernt that you control 8 of, as long as you attempted to put a token into play it will then check if you have 8 artifacts with the same name, it could be creatures, tokens, even lands but as long as you control 8 artifacts with the same name you win.

  • Happy The Cat

just thought of this, Mycosynth Lattice.
there are tons of ways to put an artifact into play at instant speed, now all of a sudden my islands are all artifacts and you lose before my draw step.

    • Random Guy

      10 CMC, but yes.

  • Deadly Berry

    Clues, Servos… Kinda fun.

  • Slava Osokin

    oh no
    not tangle wire
no one can do anything and then you just win in 8 turns

    • bonogringo

This would work if tanglewire could stay around for that long…

      • Trevor Terry

Also, each person would untap for each counter on each tanglewire, so the longer it stayed out, the better the odds it would get nuked. 5 would be the max you could have unless you have proliferate.

  • Leeroy Jenkins

Well, you may not get many wins with the second ability, but free Smuggler’s Copters, Fleetwheel Cruisers, and Metallic Mimics are good enough for me at 4CC :)

    • Random Guy

      Free metalwork colossi xd

Who needs the second ability when you make a 10/10 every turn? Also works great with Metallic Revolution.

Or implements for one card per turn isn’t terrible and fits the deck. The only problem with this card is that it’s very easily removed. Counterspells help.

  • Han Solo II

If Ugin’s Nexus didn’t prevent players from taking extra turns…

  • Touch Me

Drop this on a Winter Orb and look your friends in the eye while you do it.

  • Wolf Ingram

T1. Thraben Inspector T2. Erdwal Illuminator T3. Expose Evil T4.Mechanized Production (on a clue) T5. Confirmed Suspicions on their turn. T6. you win on upkeep!
