  • Xero

    Power/toughness = 5/5

  • William S. Miller

feels OP. . .anyone else think this is OP?

    • Zombie

      *Doom Blade*

      • William S. Miller

        obviously. . .

        • Zombie

“It’s not OP if it dies to Doom Blade.”

          • MtgMind-Welder98

That’s true isn’t it? Never thought of OP like that before

          • Zombie

That’s why you don’t really see creatures being banned, like… almost ever.

There’s only 4 creatures banned in Modern, as opposed to the nearly 30 non- creature cards banned in Modern.

Creatures aren’t OP if you have ways to deal with them. And every format has simple, easily playable, and easily cast- able hate spells for creatures, so they’re kept in check. Like Doomblade.

So, as the old adage goes, “It’s not OP if it dies to Doomblade”.

          • MtgMind-Welder98

Your absolutely right. Thats for the info!

          • Jordan

Yep, you have mizzium mortars for red, o-ring effects for white, (or the new exile white creature hate card), counterspells, bounce, claustrophobia or other effects in blue, doom blade etc in black, and even green has plummet to kill it. Or other fight effects. Every color has a way. You only need to worry about this guy if you’re an aggro deck.

          • Andy Dondes

            Doom blade is OP

  • Keltal

hope hes 2/2 or something like that, if not he seems quite to strong

    • Zombie

Too strong? It’s a 4/4 for CMC 6 that has a CHANCE of Time Walk-ing.

And even then it can’t infinite loop itself. You can’t even Clone it, sac the old one, and attack with it during your Extra Turn, because the clause on the card says so.

It’s a “GG Sign the slip here” bomb in Limited, but other than that, it’s just a cool Mythic. Fatty Boom- Booms that aren’t green don’t usually see Constructed play unless they’re completely busted- levels of good, eg: Aetherling, Angel of Serenity, Thundermaw Hellkite, etc.

  • Joshua Knox

    If 2/2, 3/3, 3/5 Then probably a rare. If 5/5 + then probably a mythic.

  • p.q

So, this is the promised creature with the Power Nine ability of Time Walk (cf. Theros Teaser). Besides, I think he is gonna be 1/4 (too old, therefore too weak to hit :-)).

  • Max

Would be a blast in a Rafiq EDH…

  • Fbn Dnl Schlr

    Probably 5/5.

Unfortunately it will spawn a lot of new, same old control U/W EDH decks. Just put some Sphinxes, flyers and ways to draw cards in there. Some counters and maybe a Time Walk effect or two and you’re set. I love playing control in EDH (Visara! Nin! Karador! Karn!), but U/W decks are BOOORING.

    • Antares

It’s a 4/4; at least, according to a couple other spoiler sites. I actually thought of a REALLY funny deck. If there are enough enchantment creatures in this set (especially as low drops), you can make a “Sphere of Safety” deck that just stops everything dead in its tracks. :P
      It would be GLORIOUS.

PS. U/W decks can actually be very interesting, if you play/make them correctly. :)

      • Fbn Dnl Schlr

U/W control is simply not the kind of control I like to play, because they miss a decent win condition (=fast clock) and rely on 1-2 cards, and until that they simply STALL. To win, they have to tick up their Jace or cast some dumb X spell like EtA or DoJ. Interesting? Yes. But fun to play and fun to play against (I’m playing EDH, so it’s equally important my opponents have fun losing)? You’re kidding.

What control do I like to play? Black-based. Grindy stuff without counters.

        • nitro

black controls pretty good, but i prefer R/W with overwhelming creatures, or a U/B with some titans.

          • Fbn Dnl Schlr

            Good for you.

    • Mike Thomas

      Bruna says Hello. :D

    • Kinney

My Isperia, Supreme Judge EDH says hi. It also dares you to just try to hurt me.

      • Fbn Dnl Schlr

That’s what I was talking about.

  • MtgMind-Welder98

    Medomai says,”Hi”

  • Thedude

I knew Rick Rubin was not human.

  • bm12

this is magical christmas land, but cast this, next turn aurielia the warleader, cast boros charm. take all the turns

    • We Think Alike

this is the same thing I thought when I saw him I even told my friend im going to take all the turns lol

    • Jordan

dont think that works unless my brains fried because it’s monday. You get two extra turns sure, but Medomai can’t attack during extra turns. However that would be awesome with ral zarek and get him that much closer to his ult :)

      • guest

you would be able to because you are attacking in the same turn aurielia gives you and extra attack step

        • Jordan

So Aurellia comes in and you get two attack steps. The sphinx hopefully connects twice. you get two extra turns. But then the sphinx can’t attack during extra turns. So it’s not an infinite turn combo is what I’m saying. You just get tons of turns.

          • Joshua McTiernan

But in his dream he cast Boros charm. Giving the sphinx double strike (I think). This means he would connect four times and take four turns( if the opponent wasn’t dead after four hits with a 4/4!)

    • pooper scouper

      could you not

  • James Quinton Hicks II

This guy. I like him. The art kinds freaks me out, but I like him.

  • Csypher

Could a judge or someone clear this up for me, is it possible for me to say have Daxos of Melentis with voidwalk ciphered onto him with medomai on the field during my first main, I then move to combat connect with both Medomai triggers giving me another turn then voidwalk triggers, blinking medomai, is that medomai still considered the same medomai and cannot attack during additional turns? because if it can, thats an infinite turn combo in U/W in standard

  • Aidan the great

I’m building a human deck and those three humans would be awesome to have in the deck
