    While the original print is certainly legendary (like, one of the best cards ever printed), it is disappointing that Niv didn’t get reimagined in some way. aka. Niv Planeswalker, or some other iteration.

      He is a reprint in these decks but in RTR he gets a new card.

    Why would Niv ever be a Planeswalker?! He never travlled between planes or anything… Idk why people want him to be a PW so bad! You know what? You will get a Blue / Red planeswalker… he will be called Rall Zarek, and thank god Niv didnt become a Planeswalker…

      you know what would happen if niv became a planeswalker? we’d have a second jace on our hands. and for that reason i believe he’ll never be a planeswalker. because the last thing the game needs is 2 jaces.

         I just dont get it why is evrybody asking him to be a Planeswalker, I think that people think that he is like Nicol, when he isn’t… at All.

          they want him to be a planeswalker because he was such a good card in ravnica and still is in plenty of formats. an EDH deck for him is devastating. im sure wizards had thought about making him a planeswalker, but then they would need to give the same treatment to all other guildmasters and that just wouldnt work. im guessing either they’ll introduce a new planeswalker or we’ll see a new version of garruk, chandra or tezzeret.

            in the storyline he can travel between plans with out a planswalker spark.

            yes, but my point still stands. what wizards does everytime ravnica comes around is say “ok, we need to make it so one guild doesnt become the sought after guild in ravnica” and if they made niv mizzet a planeswalker, it would make Mizzet that much more of an OP guild because they already have jace.

            Though Jace is with Niv, I don’t wuite think he’ll be U/R. He’s just too emotionally balanced and sane (though a bit dumb at certain points in the novels).

            that could always change. we dont know anything about whats goin down in ravnica

            he was not that good during ravnica block. no tier 1 decks played him, he was a casual favorite though.

            That’s ridiculous. Giving Niv planes walker does NOT mean they’d have to give all the other guild leaders planeswalker. They didn’t give all the Legends dragons planes walker status, just Bolas.

    is it just me or does anyone else notice the mana cost of the image is different from the old niv……

    niv has been confirmed as a planes walker in the fluff. whether he becomes a planeswalker card or not is still up in the air

    also, if niv mizzet woulb be a planeswalker, we wont have 2 jaces. we would have 2 nicol bolas!
