Nice, a mini Reap Intellect. That art though..

    • Blank88

Yeah, it looks like that meme of the guy in the club realising profound truths XD

    • Axel Tousignant

its just realy better than Reap Intellect

  • Dr. Burn Crow

He has ichor leaking from his eyes. You know what else does? Humans corrupted by early onset phyresis. Coincidence? Probably. But I still want Phyrexians on Innistrad.

so it’s another one of these disruption effects at mana cost where you kinda wont need it anymore but in late game it’s a Memoricide? yeah I’d rather have Thoughtseize or one of the other one mana printings of this ablity.

Over costed hand attack seems to be the new norm for Standard, and it’s making me more glad still that I dropped the format entirely.

Standard is just turning into Magic: Lite.

As always, powerful discard will come and go.

    • wwww

In fact, 3 mana “choose and discard whatever you want” has always been the norm since more than 15 years (Coercion). There is a strictly better version of it in Innistrad (Night Terror) and this is strictly better than Night Terror. Plus, there is Diplomacy of the Wastes that is strictly better than Coercion. That kind of discard spells have been better and better over the years.

For less costly spells, either it has restrictions (Duress, Despise, Inquisition of Kozilek), have a drawback (Thoughtseize) or is more color intensive (Distress, Castigate).

Pretty poor but who knows. Memoricides have been playable before.

    • MrAptronym

As sideboard cards against very particular decks though. This one can’t even steal away your opponent’s big threat unless they have it in hand when you cast it either.

A fairly bad card. A three mana choose-and-discard is unplayed in most formats, and the rider here is just really weak. First you need delirium, and you get an effect that is incredibly niche. Memoricide is one of those effects that has a place, but that people overestimate. Making the card exile shores up a weakness that discard has in this set in particular (Madness and probably recursion) but in my opinion, it is just not enough.
