• Random Guy

    Let’s just say this is appropriately costed.

  • Kahai

    What are things i want to cast Rite of Replication on for 500?

  • Kahai

    Also Infinite Reflections just got a VERY HAWT new target.

  • Pyrxs

    Forerunner gets hit by his own ability but it does combo nicely with it to give you a few polyraptors

    • Nyos

      Ah, you’re right. Wasn’t thinking about that. Still, not a bad little combo if you can get it off

      • Nyos

        I suppose it would still work if you somehow had the mana to cast Heroic Intervention or something lol

    • Communist_Bear

      7 copies of Polyraptors* (if you use the Forerunner’s ability 3 times).

      • Vando

        It’s actually 8 raptors if you choose not to ping your creatures on the 3rd one and then do it on the 4th.

        • Communist_Bear

          I’ve said “copies” because i didn’t count the original since it’s not a token. But yes, we’ll get 8 polyraptors

  • Calvin

    The amount of cards in this set that are very hard to kill is super high

  • Happy The Cat

    oh, goody, and it’s too big for Flamestrike to always clear board. bloody Patron Warrior totally needed to come back didn’t it?

    • Kaiser

      EVERYONE GET IN THIS NEW CARD GAME!

    • Hedronal

      Plus killing it with burn doesn’t really kill it.

  • MrFacehug

    Journey of the Polyraptors. Play small dudes turn 1 and 2, enchant a guy with Journey to Eternity turn 3, play something to discard Polyraptor turn 4 + fatal push your enchanted guy, flip journey and reanimate the raptor turn 5.

  • Arcus Diabolus

    A rather somewhat decent answer to weenies. a little costly, but they multiply quickly on either players turn as long as both players are attacking.

  • Raymond Horley

    I feel ill need to call a judge if I play this with forerunner of the empire on the field. judge how many 5/5’s am I getting

    • Animar, Elemental Master

      You’d get three. After that Forerunner explodes from his own ability

      • Raymond Horley

        don’t the copies have the enrage copy ability though?

        • Marcus TheRunner

          I make it 8 raptor enrage token enrage on both 2 tokens enrage on all 4

      • Ryan Davidson

        I think it is more than 3.

    • Steven Wallace

      This is a stalemate. It would not kill the original copies fast enough to stop this from going infinite. Meaning if you use these two together you will draw the game.

    • Charlie Stepp

      ***read below comment, missed a trigger ***

      Poly enters play.
      Forerunner trigger.
      1 damage to both dudes. (Just assume just those 2 creatures)
      Token #1 enters.
      Forerunner trigger.
      Hits poly, token, forerunner for 1 damage.
      2 more poly tokens enter play. (Total of 3 now)
      Forerunner trigger.
      Hits poly, forerunner, 3 tokens.
      4 more tokens enter play. (Total of 7)
      Forerunner dies and goes to graveyard.
      Do note that the original poly has 3 damage on it until eot.

      • Raymond Horley

        sounds right though I’m interested in what happens with 2 forerunners

        • DarthinvaderIX

          2 forerunners, poly etb takes 1 damage twice, makes two tokens at the same time
          2 tokens etb, the three polys takes 1 damage four times, you create twelve tokens
          The forerunners die and the original poly dies, the first two tokens have four damage marked.
          You end up with 14 poly tokens

          I think.

        • Marvin Sürig

          Everytime you get one of the dino you can put the trigger of one of them or both on the Stack. The important part is that you only let it trigger after all Enrage triggers made you one dino token. If you make everything the right way you can get 8 by skipping one trigger.
          Always ignor the ETB trigger if there is still one of the Enrage triggers on the stack. That way all Tokens get the damage. If you have two Forerunner it turns into a stack nightmare.
          You activate both but put a long triggerchain over the trigger of the second Forerunner. In the end you will have as many activations on the unresolved stack as you build up.

        • Marvin Sürig

          Somone told me this after I had my math wrong.
          Poly enters
          Forerunner triggers (1/2)
          Poly enters (you now have 2)
          Forerunner triggers (1/1), giving two Poly triggers
          Poly enters (you now have 3)
          Skip Forerunner trigger
          Poly enters (you now have 4)
          Forerunner triggers (1/0), giving you four Poly triggers
          Poly triggers (you now have 5)
          Poly triggers (you now have 6)
          Poly triggers (you now have 7)
          Poly triggers (you now have 8)

          Forerunner triggered 3 times, meaning your first Poly has taken 3 (5/2) damage; second Poly has taken 2 (5/3) damage, and 3rd and 4th Poly has taken 1 damage (5/4). Poly 5 through 8 are undamaged (5/5).

          Okay now with two triggers.
          Poly enters
          1st Forerunner triggers (1/2) (Still on the Stack)
          2nd Forerunner triggers (1/2)
          Poly enters (you now have 2)
          1st Forerunner triggers (1/1) (2x Still on the Stack)
          2ndForerunner triggers (1/1), giving two Poly triggers
          Poly enters (you now have 3)
          Skip Forerunner trigger
          Poly enters (you now have 4)
          1st Forerunner triggers (1/0) (3xStill on the Stack)
          2nd Forerunner triggers (1/0), giving you four Poly triggers
          Poly triggers (you now have 5)
          Poly triggers (you now have 6)
          Poly triggers (you now have 7)
          Poly triggers (you now have 8)
          now the 3 piled up 1st Forerunner triggers resolve one after another
          1st Forerunner 3th Trigger resolves
          Poly triggers (you now have 9)
          Poly triggers (you now have 10)
          Poly triggers (you now have 11)
          Poly triggers (you now have 12)
          Poly triggers (you now have 13)
          Poly triggers (you now have 14)
          Poly triggers (you now have 15)
          Poly triggers (you now have 16)
          1st Forerunner 2nd Trigger resolves
          Poly triggers (you now have 17)
          Poly triggers (you now have 18)
          Poly triggers (you now have 19)
          Poly triggers (you now have 20)
          Poly triggers (you now have 21)
          Poly triggers (you now have 22)
          Poly triggers (you now have 23)
          Poly triggers (you now have 24)
          Poly triggers (you now have 25)
          Poly triggers (you now have 26)
          Poly triggers (you now have 27)
          Poly triggers (you now have 28)
          Poly triggers (you now have 29)
          Poly triggers (you now have 30)
          Poly triggers (you now have 31)
          Poly triggers (you now have 32)
          Now the last Trigger og your 1st Forerunner resolves giving you 62 Polys

        • Charlie Stepp

          Now we’re getting super spicy.

          With 2 in play it would be:
          Poly enters play.
          2 forerunner triggers on the stack. (Trigger 1a, 1b)
          Trigger 1a – deal 1 damage, causes poly to trigger
          1 token enters, triggers both forerunner again to the stack (trigger 2a, 2b)
          Trigger 2a (1b still on stack) deals 1 damage to poly and token 1.
          Poly and token 1 triggers go on the stack
          Token 2 (from token 1) etb, causes trigger 3a, 3b.
          Trigger both forerunner (4a, 4b)
          Token 3 (from poly) etb
          Trigger both forerunner (5a, 5b)
          5a forerunner trigger deals 1 damage to everything.
          Poly and Tokens 1, 2 and 3 trigger to stack
          Before tokens etb, the 3rd trigger kills both forerunners
          Forerunners to gy
          Tokens 5-8 etb.
          Trigger 5b deals 1 damage to all. 8 tokens and 1 poly when this resolves (this makes 4 damage this turn, it matters)
          There is now poly and 16 tokens.
          Trigger 4a – hits poly and 16 tokens. Poly dies from damage. 34 tokens
          Trigger 4b – hits all, kills token 1 only. 67 tokens
          Trigger 3a – hits all, kills tokens #2 and #3 – 132 tokens
          Trigger 3b – hits all, kills tokens # 5-8 – 260 tokens
          Trigger 2b – hits all, kills tokens # 9-16 – 513 tokens
          Trigger 1b – hits all, kill tokens 17- 132 – 910 tokens

          Your local judge will thank you for not doing this. My head hurts lol.

          • Coby Folk

            I’m not certain the stack ends up like you’ve described here. From my count the most you can get, even delaying Forerunner triggers for max token hits and the banked triggers, is 61 raptors by the end of it.
            The only way I can see your line working out is if you thought Forerunner has 4 toughness.

            EDIT: oh that must be you below, nvm.

          • Charlie Stepp

            By all means, please list the triggers and how they go onto the stack to clear this up. I would love to see where I went wrong so I can polish up my technical play/understanding.

          • Coby Folk

            I’m thinking you’re missing that during step 3, only fr1 triggers causing another token to etb before fr2 trigger are accounted for. Fr2 triggers don’t happen until the very end of the stack.

            For the love God, or lack thereof, please don’t do this. It’s not infinite and as such you have to play it out which could take For. Ev. Er.

          • Coby Folk

            The triggers aren’t happening until the end of the stack, but it’s for FR1. I think you’re assuming FR1 means the forerunner that’s resolving first, but I’m listing it as the one that triggers first (first in, last out). Which just means we have our lines of thought backwards I guess.

          • Coby Folk

            Okay, I’ve broken down every both of play; both using every Forerunner trigger and using forerunners once Enrages resolve:

            (Using Every FR Trigger)

      • Charlie Stepp

        In hindsight, the 2 tokens etb would cause 2 triggers for forerunner.
        3a, 3b
        3a resolves – 4 tokens etc
        Forerunner dies
        3b resolves
        Total of 9 tokens and 4 damage applied by the end of it

  • DJ Pad

    So, Aether flash in play, then Tooth and Nail finding this and Purphoros, GG everyone.

    Or Blasting station, Pandemonium, Warstorm Surge etc. for infinite ETB triggers.

  • Darkray Accel

    too many combos to care…Many 2 card combos too, as soon as you see this hit the field in edh you might want to start tapping for removal, it might be too late anyways, so many etb triggers…

  • David S. McCrae

    Warstorm Surge +
    Something else with a “Creature comes into play” trigger +
    This.

    Keep having the Polyraptors deal the damage to themselves, the token is made, then the polyraptor dies, then the token is made, then the polyraptor dies, then the token is made, then the polyraptor dies, until you end the chain by targeting the opponent with the Warstorm Surge ability.

    Other “Comes Into play” trigger goes off each time for priofit!

    • Shagoth

      Holy Sekki Batman!

    • Kahai

      Parallel Lives says hi. :D

      Also throw in where ancients tread to kill opponents in a few loops of the cycle.

    • Kahai

      With Parallel lives, Warstorm Surge, and Where Ancients Tread out the following happens:
      Dino hits, pops both WSS and WAT, WSS to an opponent, WAT to the dino, Dino Trigger -> PL trigger.
      5 to 1 face
      2 Dinos hit, double WSS and WAT triggers, Double PL Trigger.
      10 to 1 face
      4 Dinos hit, 4x WSS/WAT, 4x PL
      20 to 1 face
      8 dinos, 8x WSS/WAT, 8x PL
      40 to 1 face
      16 dinos, 16x WSS/WAT, 16x PL
      80 to 1 face
      32 dinos, 32x WSS/WAT, 32x PL
      160 to 1 face
      64 dinos, 64x WSS/WAT, 64x PL
      320 to 1 face

      ~~~
      Since the triggers on both WSS and WAT are either may or your choice of target they don’t cause an infinite loop, means this combo can kill any player no matter their life total. :D
      • Kahai
        Add Anointed Procession and Doubling Season for an even faster win. :D
      • Kahai
        The trick with this is having to get multiple of these spells out on the same turn, and have either somehow tapped out control player, or baiting their counter in some other method which costs even more mana.
        Anyone that just lets you have the enchantments for this combo out for multiple turns isn’t going to be happy.
        • Giby86 .
          Well, then. Primal Surge and a deck with no other nonpermanent cards.
      • David S. McCrae
        THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!! ROFL!
  • Oscar
    This is a pretty cool enrage payoff if I ever saw one.
  • Jakub S.
