To me, this one drop proves that Eternalize should vary in cost.

    • Jonathan Reynolds

Eternalize does vary in cost. For instance, Sinuous Striker costs 5 CMC and a card, while Adorned Pouncer just costs 5 CMC to eternalize. This costs 6.

You are just not going to see much lower than that because it does give a 4/4 at no card cost.

        Token Example – 0
        Creature – 0/0
        Eternalize 2CC

    • Hedronal

Thankfully this is just a common.

      Eternalize does vary in cost.

      • Shagoth

        Shoot, you’re right.

… why wouldi ever play a 1 mana 1/1 with no utility. this might as well just be a 6 mana 4/4 period

    • Jacob Kodicovic

To apply pressure in the early game? To round out your curve? To make sure you don’t just play a land turn 1 and pass?

      • ymmij X

this applies little pressure, in limited the one mana slot is only useful for utility unless you somehow manage to go insainly wide which you cant in this deck and i would rather have a card in hand turn 6 than a 1/1 turn 1. limited is a format of card advantage where you have to make every card count. this will maybe get you 1 damage 2 if your on the play and a bock it isn’t worthless but it is just about the last card i would pick in this set so far

  • Ecoabismo

This would`ve been usefull with exploit in dragons of tarkir.

    • DarthinvaderIX

Why past tense? just play modern

      • Shagoth

That’s a bit too janky in such a competitive format.
Why past tense? just play commander

  • Grant Jacobson

maybe eternalize is trying to push embalming tools? doubtful but with a full playset this becomes a 2-mana 4/4

  • Mov

Flavor wise this is weird – I assume that all the eternalised warriors are ones who passed the trials. But how could a vanilla 1 1 pass the trials when objectively more powerful creatures did not pass the trials.

    Proven against what?
