hmm..at uncommon i like it. seems a bit too heavy cost for too little impact but i could see it being used in a strategy of some sort. We’ll see, these megrim effects seem to always go by the wayside….mainly because we dont really have a lot of hand destruction at one time…most we have right now is unburden, mind rot, and dreamstealer.

If cycling were ever gonna be comp-etitive, this is here to stomp that delusion

Oh look a more expensive Liliana’s Caress that has a built in discard ability. I won’t play it in Nekusar but I certainly think it has a home somewhere

      Nath of the Gilt-Leaf

      • Edward

I didn’t even think about Nath and it does seem to fit in there very nicely.

  • Deadly Berry

It has to force to discard three in order to be “worth it”.

  • galen150

would be a fun build around, but not viable competatively.

    • Jay Kilian

the mono black curse control deck might use it. Torment of Scarabs/Torment of Hailfire would like that first part, but those decks don’t play creatures.

  • Dave

    Combine it with Torments?

  • Animar, Elemental Master

Limited house for aggro or midrange decks, as this eats cards from there hand the turn it comes in, provided you have a creature.

  • Erik

This, Nekusar, Hive Mind, and Wheel of Fortune.

    • Tolle

I feel like at that point everyone will just mill themselves and you don’t need this

  • Delipha

I could run this in my Neheb, the worthy tribal deck.

  • Alexandre Donnart

Meh. I can’t find a reason to play this over Liliana’s Caress. It’s a different build because you need creatures, but still, too expensive and doing nothing most of the time.

    • Tolle

Nath of the Gilt-Leaf… need I say more?

  • David S. McCrae

So, all that time waiting for a new black enchantment that interacts with opponents discarding cards…and we get…this burning pile of disappointment. Sad Faces. :(

    • Jay Kilian

It’s true. Between Harsh Scrutiny/Duress/Lay Bare there is a discard shell that wanted something as a finisher. And those decks don’t tend to run many creatures, limiting the second benefit. Good in limited pirate builds tho

  • aba1

This is a great example of cards in the latest sets being ALMOST good. Everytime they print something strong they hamper it down in some way so it isn’t quite as good as it could be.

  • Tolle

    Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, enjoy
