yep, it was in khans, this art is better though

  • Jeff Cook

Yes very good in red white equipment.

  • Geddon

Alright, I’ve only been awake twenty minutes, and this isn’t making sense to me. What’s the use of destroying a blocking creature, then giving the blocked creature trample? Are you supposed to use it against multiple creatures blocking the same creature?

    • Dominic Ng

If a creature has trample, it will first deal damage to blocking creatures, then deal excess damage to defending player. If creature A with trample is blocked by creature B and B disappeared for some reason, A will deal 0 damage to blocking creatures, and deal excess damage which is its power, to the defending player.

    • ForeverLaxx

Because once a creature is blocking something, even if it’s destroyed, the creature it was blocking will not deal damage to the player unless it had trample. This removes the creature in your way, grants trample so that it will deal damage, and might even encourage the enemy to dual-block you from then on once they know you’re using this card, potentially gaining more value later.

    • NoobOfLore

If you destroy a blocking creature, the blocked creature still won’t deal damage to the defending player, because it’s still blocked.

If you give it trample, it can trample over its power to the defending player, since it doesn’t have to assign any damage to a defending creature.

    • Geddon

Thanks for all the clarifications, guys. I don’t run trample in my decks myself, so I had no idea trample works like that. No that I know what’s going on, this is a pretty nice card.

  • Tolle

The idea is that now your blocked creatures become “unblocked.” If you just destroyed the blocked creature your blocked creature still wouldn’t get through

    • Chaospyke

Tht’s why the blocked creature gets trample. So the damage will go through

      • NoobOfLore

That’s what they were saying. Just stated it a bit unclearly.

  • Melissa Juice

Quite powerful in Khans limited. Don’t ignore this card in draft.

  • Son Goku

The original did a lot of work in my original Jeskai deck. With Jeskai Ascendancy + Prowess, my friend Bobby very quickly grew to hate Ride Down. Especially when I teamed up with my friend Erik’s Mardu deck that ran the same card. :D

I’m so glad to see this back. And the art is just as beautiful this time around!
