    Trample(?)
When Rowdy Crew enters the battlefield, draw two cards and then discard two cards at random. If two cards that share a card type were discarded this way, put two(?) +1/+1 counters on Rowdy Crew. (It’s mythic, so it’s probably more than two +1/+1 counters)

You don’t want none of these rowdy, rough boys.

    • Jordan

if only 2 counters, thats pretty sad… 5 mana, discard 2 cards for a 5/5 trample? At mythic?

      • Marvin Sürig

        I think the mana costs are wrong. I reas {2}{R}{R}

        • Jonathan Reynolds

Looks like you were right. It’s 2RR.

          • Marvin Sürig

            Yay :D

    • Happy The Cat

I think it’s something along the lines of “if they have the same converted mana cost put that many +1/+1 counters on rowdy crew” or at least some function with their mana costs.

      • Jonathan Reynolds

Looking at the card at a 2.5x zoom, I am very confident in the line “If two cards that share a card type were discarded this way” It’s the number of counters that I’m less clear on. I’m also not 100% on the number of cards drawn (or even if it says to draw), but drawing two fits with the “then discard two cards at random”

        EDIT: It’s draw 3, discard 2.

    • Heikki Kanniainen

It says draw three, discard two or one something. Seems quite good

    Rude Boys

  • Robert FakeLastName

I thought wotc was getting away from the word random in association with discard?

  • theEternalPilgrims

This may be costed at 2RR, it’s hard to tell. But the set symbol sure looks like it’s crimson. I don’t want to believe that because this card is not nearly epic or good enough to be considered as a mythic. (mythics tend to be very good or epic in either a flavor and/or gameplay based way.)

  • Evil Tactics

Pretty confident this is a mythic, if it were rare the golden symbol wouldn’t look that dark. And if this is indeed mythic, I’m more confident that cost is 2RR.

  • Shagoth

For a block about dinosaurs, pirates, eco friendly merfolk, and the vampire inquisition, why are so many of the mythics so boring so far?

  • TogetherAlone

How do people feel about this card. This seems like it could be a decent 4 drop in aggro. with high creature density you get this out as a 5/5 trample for 4. Doesn’t really give you card advantage or even card selection sadly.

Edit: Could this be good in a seismic assault style deck with very high landcount? Seismic assault+molten vortex and this guy could rack up a lot of damage quick.

    • Blahblahblahbla

So, on turn 4 with your agro deck you play this. Ideally you wont have many cards in your hand if you’re playing agro. You’re discarding multiple cards at random so it’s a complete crapshoot what your hand will end up after this and it is very unlikely to get the counters from discarding like types. Imo it is just bad in agro.

Also, doesn’t really do anything worthwhile in a Seismic deck. If you playing in a format with Seismic Assault, this is about the last 4 drop you would want in your deck.

    • Happy The Cat

this is still kinda a pointless card, even if your playing a super land heavy deck this still has a high chance of not doing anything since you draw three cards so there is no way to control it. and even if you land it it’s just a four mana 5/5 trample and one new card in your hand. you’d be better off with ramp to fuel Valakuts or something of the sort. so Summoner’s Pact into Primeval Titan is still way better.
the only thing that could redeem this is Madness, and Madness is some hot sweaty garbage of a keyword past say Basking Rootwalla.

  • Blahblahblahbla

The first garbage red mythic of the set. Some things never change.

  • kekek

This is what it takes to be a Mythic now? The chance of getting 1 point of P/T higher than its casting costs or 1 under if it doesnt work. Its like Tibalt as a pirate

    • Happy The Cat

      *red mythic now
people call me crazy for saying WoTC isn’t giving red equal cards, but we have this to add to the list.

      • kekek

This would be an uncommon in every other color but red once again gets shafted

  • Edward

This card is just bad. As a rare it would be ok but as a Mythic it is awful. If you didn’t have to discard at random it would be good. You have to go through so much to maybe get a slightly above the curve creature and slight card advantage. At least if it was something like Combustible Gearhulk there is always upside even if your opponents get a choice.

  • Gord

I love this card – 3/3 for 4 that draws a card (in red) and might be a 5/5 – trample isn’t nothing. It even puts 2 cards in the yard for you. I think people are really underestimating this.

  • Hedronal

    Both at random? Nope.

    • Bobit

Cantripping 3/3 trample part isn’t random.

      • Hedronal

Discarding a card is at random on Tibalt, and that’s why he’s memeably bad. This does that drawback twice at once. Nope.

        • Bobit

Tibalt is bad because his +1 virtually never helps you, and his -4 is fairly minor. The average case for this card tho, is a 4 mana 4/4 cantripping trample, which does tend to mess up your hand due to random discard, but it also mills you two. So it might see some play in GFG, unlikely tho. In limited it’s pretty decent.

          • Hedronal

            True about Tibalt.

Average case is a bit misleading here, as it doesn’t do the average, it’s either 5/5 or 3/3, and consistency there depends on the deckbuilding. Still not a card I find good or want to play.

  • Blahblahblahbla

I dreamed about this card last night. Someone was trying to convince me that it was good and they kept casting it and failing to get the counters and discarding relevant removal spells. Even my subconscious mind knows how bad it is.

  • Dave

Aftermath makes it a bit better but it’s still pretty unreliable.

  • Jalais

I have a poser. You play this with panharmonicon in play and first discard a creature and instant, then on the second trigger discard creature and sorcery, will you get counters?
