  • Martin Kaca

Interesting. Looks like it will be Black/Red or Green. Can’t tell but from the video he is supposed to be a villain I believe. Probably won’t see it this set though.

  • Phillip Dunn

We have a vampire planeswalker, an elf planeswalker, a cat-person planeswalker, a golem planeswalker, a dragon planeswalker, a devil planeswalker, a gorgon planeswalker, MANY HUMAN PLANESWALKERS, and now we have a satyr planeswalker….. Where in the @#$% is the goblin or merfolk planeswalker?! I mean, isn’t it about time we had one? I think the answer is clear why they haven’t done so yet…. racism. UnU

    • David Fitzsimmons

Well we have a Merfolk planeswalker in the form of Kiora, she just is not a card yet. Only a matter of time with how popular I beleive she is.

Goblins sorta had a planeswalker at one point. That one goblin friend of Glissa back in original Mirrodin managed to get her spark implanted inside him instead of memnarch who extracted it. Whoever he immediately burnt up the power of the spark to revive Glissa.

Also the devil planeswalker is only a half devil who was formerly pure human. Devil’s can’t be planeswalkers I beleive. There is a legendary demon who was once a old walker before the Medning and thus had the ability to shapeshift like all walkers of that time. He got caught during the mending in a demon form and lost his spark as a result of his form becomming a permament demon.

      • Kyuubi

Any sentient being has the ability to ignite a planeswalker spark. Only very few manage to do so. Ob Nixilus was a demon who lost his spark to the Zendikar wilds. Slobad being the goblin you speak of.

    • Jordan

      we need a sliver planeswalker….

      • Joshua McTiernan

Shush! We do not speak of such things.,..such terrifying things…

        • Garrett Horton

im gunna go hide under my sheets
tho a 5 color planeswalker would be pimp
          a sliver walker is scary

    • Bob Holcomb

Bring back the Goblins. lol (Laughing evily as he searches his stores for red evil)

  • Carlos Pimpão

i bet it is only black. like there are no black planeswalkers other than liliana so it would be nice to have one.

    • Ox

      sorin

      • Carlos Pimpão

oh yeah i forgot about that guy xP oh well…so it might be b/r since we already have b/g.

        • LeonFA

We also have Sarkhan the Mad for B/R, but you’re not wrong in forgetting that he exists. The walker color combos we haven’t seen are W/G, G/U, Bant, Jund, Esper, Naya, Wedges, Nephlims, and Rainbow.

However, Satyrs are supposed to be Green and a bit of Red in this set. So he’ll likely be Green or G/R.

          • David Fitzsimmons

He is probably black. Doubly so if he is the Ashiok referenced on the new thoughtseize flavor text. All it takes is a bit of corruption to make him black.

          • Carlos Pimpão

It would be kinda stupid for them to make another g/r in such a short period of time. if it was b/g it would also be stupid because of vraska. so yeah im still going for b/r since sarkhan was released in eldrazi and that was a while ago.

          • MtgMind-Welder98

Can’t he be ALL THREE? It would be nice to see a new Planeswalker of three colors.

  • qwerty

Fauns and Satyrs were always my favorite mythological creatures and this guy looks so bad-ass! :O
Honestly can’t wait to see what his abilities are

    • David Fitzsimmons

Placing bets on him being a villian of some kind.

      • Floritte

I think so too. It’s like Mr. Tumnus had an evil brother.

  • Bennyboy

Has no one else noticed that he looks like the shadowy figure in the Theros trailer that Helios says is threatening to usurp him? The horns and facial features are very close..

    • Mick Hemcroff

It is him, they’re litrally the same people. But it’s weird seeing a faun as a villian, i always used to think they were jolly forest folk…

      • Glen

Satyr, technically. They’re both still not the most “jolly” mythical creatures, rather mischievous as it turns out

    • David Fitzsimmons

I have a strooooooooong feeling this guy is not directy trying to usurp Heliod. I have a feeling he is an agent to a greater evil perhaps Bolas or some nightmare native to the plane’s past like it’s version of Kronus. I am also placing bets that his name was the one on the flavor text for the new Thoughtseize.

      • Bennyboy

Yeah I’m gonna agree with you here and say minion as well, makes more sense…

      • Garrett Horton

        omg PLEASE BE BOLAS COLORS

        • Bennyboy

          Seems more like a R/G like Domri…

          • Yea

I am guessing he is gonna be black too because he is like corrupted nature. R/G/B is my guess.

      • Glen

At the world building panel at pax, this guy was revealed to be the main antagonist. He doesn’t want to usurp heliod, he just wants to become a god himself, in essence.

        • Bennyboy

Which explains “Born of the Gods” perhaps “Journey into Nyx” is about going into the realm of the Gods to stop him?

    • selesnyaWarden

yes its true, I saw that shadowy figure at the end of the teaser trailer too, maybe he is an evil planeswalker at the service of some mean bad god of Theros, or maybe he just likes to look that way because he is type satyr,,,, who knows right?

  • s

Pause the trailer at 1:51 and hes either the bad guy pulling the strings or the minion of the god shown before hime who i bet is cronus

  • MtgMind-Welder98

    Mother of God……..it’s PAN POSSESSED

    • Shadow921

that is the best thing i have read on this site EVER

      • MtgMind-Welder98

Thank you I try my best! :D

  • Captain_Biggles

I’m thinking that he might be jund colours. Please be a tri colour planeswalker.

  • Dalis

despite all this, i hope he’s not evil, so we can get a GW planeswalker.

  • Zombie

    Maybe the first RB walker?

    (Wizards pls)

    • Kyuubi

      Uh Sarkon the Mad?

      • Zombie

We do not speak of that monstrosity.

        • David Fitzsimmons

but the facts prove his existence, search your feelings zombie.

        • MtgMind-Welder98

          Agreed

    • MtgMind-Welder98

Maybe a RBG planeswalker? I would like to see a new Planeswalker with three colors

    • Garrett Horton

there is already a R/B planeswalker
      sarkhan the mad
personally he is one of the worst 5 planeswalkers

      • Zombie

Which is why we don’t speak of him.

The only Sarkhan is Sarkhan Vol.

      • Bob Holcomb

        Agreed

        • MtgMind-Welder98

          A Second on that

  • Silver

maybe, and just maybe, but doesnt this look like a jund colored pw? the green and the black are easy to spot, but we already have vraska. Also he has a somewhat redish feel.

  • jake

    what colors????

  • Mark Rosewater

So if Elspeth is white, we have this guy who appears to be B/R, and that Deck Faydan guy who most people seem to think is U/W or U/B. currently in RTR we have the m14 walkers, Domri (R/G), Vraska (G/B), Ral (R/U), Jace, and Gideon. Them, in addition to the other four walkers that are supposed to be in Theros, it sounds like we’re headed towards a planeswalker-heavy standard. Reprint Oblivion Ring WOTC? Pls?

  • Paul

It is a planeswalkers white, black and green. In google you will find the definition of Satyr as a creature half man (White) half goat (Green). Add the fact that he is evil (Black). Then we have a big enemy like Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. Now the new enemy is: Xenagos – Satyr Planeswalker.

    • Falconfly

White is neither necessarily mankind nor Black evil. Fail.

      • Paul

It may be cursed. You know Possessed Nomad?

        • Paul

We also have. Doran, the Siege Tower and Karador, Ghost Chieftain. Are very similar.

  • Hibernia86

Satyrs are red/green. He is also evil, so R/G/B?

    • Falconfly

Except Red and Green can be very, very evil by themselves. And Black, as Erebos shows, is not necessarily evil.

      • Carlos Pimpão

Erebos may look chill and stuff but the guy must be sadistic.

        • Falconfly

Not really. The planeswalker guide says he can be empathetic and doesn’t feel glee when others suffer, just identification with his own suffering.

          • David Fitzsimmons

In other words Erebos is goth and has not enjoyment, but dull satisfaction in having new souls to recite his poetry to.

  • Human_Rogue_21

This Planeswalker will be Jund. I can tell just by looking at it. If not, it may be Golgari or Rakdos.

  • Joshua McTiernan

I think this is a good exercise for the good old Magic color wheel. Heliod is white. Ally colors to white ate green and red. Enemy colors are black and red. I think logic would dictate here that it would be red and black. I think red is a sort of natural color for saytrs and black because that would completely make it Heliod’s enemy. Food for thought.

    • Guest

Alies to white are blue and green, not red and green. Red couldn’t be both allied and enemies with white. Also wouldn’t the natural color of a satyr be green since they usually represent nature?

      • Joshua McTiernan

Derp thanks it was really late last night and I was pretty tired.

  • weeping angel

i believe he is R/B seems more like those colors to me:P

  • Kevan Kramer

Hopefully we get a good R/B PW.

  • Jesse Cogdell

So, anyone else notice Ajani down there in the last pic? Does that mean a new Ajani Walker possibly?

    • Blackness

I noticed that as well but, I recall WoTC mentioning that there would only be 3 planeswalkers this blockand that two of them would be new.

      • David Fitzsimmons

three in the SET, not the block but the set. there will be more walkers in each set, at least one in each of the two other sets as they are small sets and we rarely get more then one walker in a small set.

    • mrkookas

Yeah I did. Thewre are supposed to be 3 planeswalkers in theros so ajani or dack will be coming later

      • Carlos Pimpão

Yes there will be 3 planeswalkers but we already know them. wizards said 1 of them wouldnt be a new planeswalker (elspeth) and the other 2 would be new so those 2 are Xenagos and Dack.

        • MtgMind-Welder98

Theres now a third planeswalker, which can only mean Ajani will or will not be in Born of the Gods, considering these arts are titled,”From Born of the Gods”

        • Jordan

Dack has been confirmed to not be one of them. he was just in the comic story. not the actual mtg storyline.

  • GramMAR Freak

I spy with my little eye: Ajani! o.O
