Flying Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn.

He grants endless wishes, as long as you always wish for a blade.

That’s got to be one of the best flavor texts ever.

    • Leonardo Duarte

Yep, I think its reference to somewhere. Though…

  • Zombie

This could get really disgusting really quick.

This might just be good enough for Standard.

It has a reasonable body with evasion and can pump all of your creatures multiple times.

Jeskai Aggro could definitely fit 2 of these into its 75.

    • Dillweed

Five drop that dies to every removal spell in the format?? Uhm, I don’t think so. Jeskai Ascendancy is way better.

      • Zombie

“Dies to removal” applies to many more things in the format that affect the battlefield just as much as Soulblade Djinn.

Jeskai Ascendancy also doesn’t have a base P/T of 4/3, and Soulblade Djinn’s ability applies to itself.

Sure, it’s slower, but it can also end games by itself, against pretty much every deck in the format, and has evasion.

Denying the relevance of the potential of Soulblade Djinn is just being silly.

Sure, granted it might not end up being relevant, but less powerful cards have seen frequent Standard play in Jeskai Aggro, and 2 copies of Soulblade Djinn could bring some guaranteed late-game finishing power to the deck that it so desperately needs.

    Mega prowess!

  • Dr. Burn Crow

    Everyone gets a knife!!!

  • Fran Álvarez Méndez

They said that I couldn’t run with scissors, so I fly with swords.

  • MrAptronym

I really wish this said ‘Creatures you control have Prowess’, but oh well.

    • kingalexander61

But then it wouldn’t stack with creatures that already have prowess.

      • kingalexander61

        I think.

        • Prowess is a trigger so it is stackable.

    • Kameenook

It will usually be the same, but this means you have to recognize one mega-prowess trigger rather than a bunch of smaller ones.

      • MrAptronym

That is true, but the wording would feel better I think, and it would come up in very few games. I am sure they had a reason not to, I just like cards that grant abilities like that. I wonder if they printed Sublime Archangel today if it would say “Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, it gets +1/+1 for each creature you control”.

    Waterskiing Djinn.

  • Bram de Lorijn

Really like the art, the foil one will be amazing I think
