• Nathan Harviala

Eat your heart out, tap-down decks. Now you’re giving them haste!

Seriously, though, this seems like a boon to extreme aggro decks, letting creatures deal that bit of damage even if they were blocked, and at a very affordable 2 mana.

    • prplprince

      Instant addition in my cube!

  • prplprince

Can they just say that the god pharaoh is Bolas and rip the bandaid off

    • Nikolai Anzuoni

      They did in the story.

      • prplprince

  • Senbai

-I tap all my tokens to crew my vehicle.
    -End of turn, you lost.

  • Urdothor

Seems useful in my EDH deck when every one of my creatures is a mana dork with cryptolith rites/ manaweft sliver/gemhide sliver

    • Urdothor

Also seems good if you can make lands into creatures.

  • David Muñoz Lopez

what? it sounds like kill on turn 3 with elves?

  • Kahai

White self tap down in standard?

  • Liam Maiher

    Azami edh

  • Aaron Hooker

elves and tokens are looking better.

  • Han Solo II

Limited bomb, at least in 2hg

  • MrAptronym

This seems a little incredibly good. You can focus on creatures with useful tap abilities (EIther mana dorks or something with tempo/card draw) and just let this eat your opponent. Pairs well in EDH with effects that untap during opponent’s turns.

  • KrakenHunter

wow. Now we’re talking. this seems fun to build around.

Saprolings + life & limb seems fun

    • MrAptronym

Not sure it’s worth the risk, I used to play life and limb and my opponents quickly found out how fun it is to boardwipe when it’s out.

      • KrakenHunter

that’s why they made cards like Heroic Intervention also golgari charm works wonder

  • Nanya

Because decks that make tokens need more ways to win! – Wizards logic

    • MrAptronym

Now my EDH token decks don’t need to worry about only being able to kill one opponent at a time!

      • Nanya

    • Random Guy

      In nonEDH? Yes.

  • Jay Kilian

Incentive to use your Chord of Calling main phase. This has tremendous potential.

  • Liam Camplin

Azami and Phenax are jumping with joy for this card.

  • Jesse Herrera

    Unwinding clock much?

  • Eli Eyal Broide

So when does the Hour of Devastation begins?
I guess that its when Bolas destroys the suns…

    • Kahai

      After the first four hours.

  • Rovkir Hexus

  • the mad seer

    • Daniel Scott

      Yours, or from wizards?

Either way I’m not liking Gideons chances of making it out the other side of this block.

      • the mad seer

came up with it myself. i like poetry.

  • Dr. Burn Crow

My Boros Aggro EDH will adore this.

  • Justin Burton

This is a serious question, please respond…
But, does modern Elf Ball/Combo elves want this?
I mean, heritage druid + other elves to tap to add mana to play other elves to tap to add more mana for more elves then end step hit them for 9 or 10?

    • prplprince

Its possible but seeing as it costs 2 mana to cast you might need to spend a turn casting it before going off which is something elves might not want to do.

  • Ryū

Now that is a fancy chair. Not sure my Bolas deck wants it, unfortunately, but I can certainly find a home for it.

    • Daniel Scott

Here’s hoping new Bolas fits it nicely. Would be a shame not to be able to match him with his seat.

      • Ryū

Agreed, been too long since Bolas last had a proper presence.

  • Kameenook

    Second Sunrise reprint imminent ?

    Also obvious synergy with exert.

    • DJPad

You mean that card that is banned in modern? Unlikely.

      • Kameenook

Well I am foolish and did indeed forget the banning, however it would still be legal in standard, and has lots of flavor here.

        • Kahai

It’s banned for the stupidest reasons too.. the combo isn’t overtly complicated, nor does it actually slow down games. If you know how to play the deck, it goes fast. :/

          • Jay Kilian

            Not online it doesn’t. Bor-ing!

  • Tye

    Where’s the sticker?

  • Edward

This is basically an auto-include in any go-wide EDH deck and with that price it is actually possible it can see play elsewhere. Standard if nothing else

  • Matt Winters

My Azami Wizard edh deck needs this card.
    So nice.

  • Alex Egertsen

Why has anyone not felt like this is how you punch people with token decks that swing wide this is right on curve with most Goblin decks. This is Legendary, I am perfectly fine with running 4. I am thinking about shared animosity when reading this. Oh, Hey Vehicles can tap down your creatures too against Draw-Go decks

  • Blahblahblahbla

My dudes.. this is a good magic the gathering card..

  • Edwin Marín Castro

Now that’s a good reason to attack like there is no tomorrow.

    • Jay Kilian

      Check out Dolmen Gate.

  • kmk888

Woooow. Cryptolith Rites and Improvise just got a huuuge boost.

  • Karl Comrodd

Just when you thought Zurgo EDH couldn’t be any quicker.

  • NothingSpecial

… even at legendary, isn’t this way too broken?

Like… I hope I’m wrong, but it seems like an auto 3- or 4-of in Standard vehicle decks….

  • Jalais

    Opponent “Exert all my creatures”
Me “Ok, a turn to breath”
    Opponent “2nd main, throne?”

  • Will Todichiinii

Card should have been named “Crazy Nasty Honey Badgers” with different art :)
Since Honey Badgers do live in Africa and Egypt.

  • we have rights !!

this makes the copy cat combo so much better now , you can ignore your opponents thalia and authority

  • asd

This is for aggro cheap decks like goblins and soldiers, go as wide as you can and as fast, its devastating…

  • Jay Kilian

Was just stewing on this and came on Life and Limb. Your MANA can do 1 damage per tap with that out.

  • Dragoncastermaster

i love my token commander decks and this I am going to find a place in all of them for this
