• Kahai

    YEAH! :D

  • Jesus

    Obviously made for limited.

If only it had Flash, it might actually be Standard playable.

    • Together Alone

I think how powerful this is depends on how powerful cartouches are. Drawing 2 for 4 isnt great but when it doesnt cost card advantage and is repeatable it gets a lot better.

      • Kumrag

You draw 3, not 2. The discard doesn’t change that. Thirst for Knowledge doesn’t draw you 1/2 for 3 mana, it draws you 3 for 3 mana, and discard 1/2. There’s a HUGE difference.

        • Together Alone

Fair enough, What I meant was it nets two cards.

          • Kumrag

It nets three cards. Discarding one means nothing, especially if it’s a land you don’t need, or a card you can get back from the yard.

          • sansmyhands

It LITERALLY nets you two cards. You get to SEE an extra card, but if you cast this as the only card in your hand you’ll draw two then discard, leaving you with two. Gross three, net two.

          • Kumrag

my bad, it technically nets two cards into your hand sure. digs 3 deep. Trying to right it off as “draw two” is incorrect, that’s all.

  • Kumrag

1-2 copies in a control deck isn’t out of the question. Hopefully cartouches make it worth it though.

  • What!

Is suspect all the trails will interact with cartouches by bouncing themselves.

  • Jude

Blehhhh i dont see this having any use outside of maybe limited. Too much mana, cant be used outside of your turn, no inherent fixes to any ails you have…unless you can blink it repeatedly. Thatd be kinda nice but still too costly

    • Random Guy

I mean…recursive overpriced card draw is alright as a sideboard… maybe.

    • Shagoth

Eh, if limited is slow, this is a great card there. Like, actually worth mentioning that it is good in limited, which is rare. Also blink was pretty strong in Kaladesh, shame that this doesn’t work with Panharmonicon.

  • Happy The Cat

so… a permanent that says draw three drop one. I’ve worked with a lot less.

  • Ryū

I see a snakeman in that art. I approve.

    • Pulverizerg

Snekmen. Im hyped for more snakes more than i hyped for jackals or white zombies tbh

      • Ryū

        There are never enough sneks.

  • Your average Johnny

    Brago, King Eternal.

    Nuff said.

  • Typhuzuzu13

I mean it says “enter the battlefield” as opposed to cast so if you can blink it…

  • Scathain

This could easily be used in flicker EDH decks, such as Brago. Also, if cartouche decks become a thing, this could easily become usable in standard.

  • Shagoth

This seems ridiculous in a slow, grindy draft. Looks tough and fun. Maybe a new control card? I like Glimmer of Genius way better, because instant speed, scry, no discard, not having to recast it to get anything good value wise, and the surprisingly useful energy.

  • Derek Niles

“enters the battlefield” three of the most powerful words in Magic

    • Robert FakeLastName

      return to hand:P

      • Lord Gonti Of The Orzov Networ

        Win the game

  • Lord Gonti Of The Orzov Networ

    Will there be all trials?

  • Deadly Berry

If cartouches are good and the amount of draw engines are limited, this could get sort of decent.
