Oh my GODESS :O That Liliana is so great no matter what she can I want that card

    • ostewart

      Goddess? What goddess?

      • Marvin Sürig

Okay I’ve forgotten one D. The set is about gods, liliana is female and if you look at the wizard page it totally looks like she embraced the pharaoh lifestyle in her other picture.

  • Zombie

Makes me wish the Planeswalker decks could be reprints, Ally of Zendikar and The Last Hope really could use a price reduction.

    • potatogod442

Most of the planewalkers in planeswalker deck are designed for causal constructed play.

      • Darksepho

        *all

      • Zombie

        I’m aware of this.

        • ShadyBiz42

          Really?

  • Oiram

I really wish you could use the intro-deck planeswalkers as EDH commanders. They’re pretty high-costed, but I feel like would make for interesting commanders (particularly intro-Tezzeret). That way, they’d get another demographic (EDH players) buying this sealed product.

Or you could just keep them as they are. It’s not like every store has a full inventory of each deck still in display, waiting for someone to buy them.

    • Marvin Sürig

The nice point would be that you could use the spell if they died a lot to get them back to your hand from the graveyard. But those cards would need to bring them to your hand even if they’re in the command zone.

    • Random Guy

Wizards doesn’t like writing rules that reference Commander on non-commander products, so in order to do that they would have to make all Planeswalkers commanders, which I would absolutely hate. Intro-deck planeswalkers are really weak anyway, the product doesn’t try to provide anything for the experienced player, just an introduction for the inexperienced player, so it’s probably okay for a store to have a full inventory of intro-decks just wasting away from Wizards’ POV.

      • Oiram

        Gotcha, that makes sense.

      • Gary Morgan

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=420478 Case and point. Planes walker intro for Chandra. Normally she is a force to be reckoned with. But a 6 CMC for 4RR and a cruddy +2 that pings opponents directly for 2 is kinda crap.-3 for targeted 4 damage only to a creature and a friggin horrindous -10 (Congratulation if you actually get it that high) that only slaps one player and each creature they control for 6. Honestly this is a total trash bin mythic i only bought it for the 2 rare 6 damage spells for 3R that could search her out. But i purposely leave her out cause she isnt worth it. The shuffle i get after is more useful.

        • Random Guy

Yes, it is total trash. It’s not supposed to be a good card. Sucks for you, yeah, but it’s how wizards gets people addicted to magic on a $25 product without making good cards cheaper.

    • Kahai

Talk to your playgroup. I know in the past i’ve played with planeswalkers as commanders (any planeswalker) with my playgroups.

If your playgroup agrees, you all can make commander decks from any planeswalker.

      • Oiram

Good point! There’s a lot of ‘unofficial’ commanders that have become popular (like Genju of the Realm), probably because of playgroup allowances

Looking at the prerelease box makes me think they’re using the BFZ/OGW boxes. This makes me sad, cuz those boxes never stayed latched.

    • Minizem

Actually, they seem taller than the BFZ ones, and I don’t see much of a flap. Perhaps it is more like a coffin to fit the egyptian theme? Or I could be completely off and its just a dumb box.

      • Rovkir Hexus

It looks like there’s a slight lip at the top of the box, so there’s probably a sleeve over it. Or it’s just teaser art and it’s something to feed the hunger for spoilers.

        • Gary Morgan

My fave prerelease box had to be the blue one from innastrad that looked like a satchel. It held pretty well a wasnt a pain to open.

          • Rovkir Hexus

Yeah, SOI block and KLD block had good boxes.

I don’t know what is more exciting, a new bad Gideon and Lilly of the Dark Realms 2.0,… or DOMRI RADE! Reprint as the face of MM17. Nothing says $13 packs like “boy, I really hope I open Domri Rade!”

But they need to stop printing new standard legal cards in these planeswalker decks. Like Flame Lash. I don’t want to buy a $25-$35 product just for a single $5 card, and a bunch of junk.
Like guys stick to reprints and getting casual or new players into the game, stop fleecing the veteran players. Or at least have the new cards commander legal, and not standard so we all have access to these cards early and can test with them without buying 4 planeswalker decks.

But Domri Rade as the face of MM17. I mean who could be more excited! The only thing better would have been Storm Crow.

    • ostewart

      What about Grizzly Bears?

    • Kevin Obermeier

flame lash is 2 ct for a complete playset. If you buy 30€ of products for 4 bulk-commons, thats on YOU and you alone.

    • alexander macrae

If what has been leaked about Gideon so far is true, he isn’t bad. 5 mana for a repeatable untap of all your creatures is a very worthwhile investment in any deck running lots of activated abilities or mana-dorks. It may not be a bomb, but he’ll be great in lots of casual formats, and even constructed if Amonkhet gives us any support for good creatures with good tap abilities.

    • Winter Trabex

The biggest thing is, people need to stop buying products if the price is above the MSRP. Let’s boycott price gouging shall we?
