  • Control-Player

Another Slagstorm. Pretty awesome for standard.

  • Jordan

    Ohhhhh, oh lord. I’m happy.

  • Nino

    why is this rare?

    • Manos Kon

      because of the word “each”

      • Fbn Dnl Schlr

I understand. Why is this rare again?

        • Zimmer Remmiz

Ever heard of Pyroclasm? That’s an uncommon, compare to this to understand the rarity…

          • Jordan

because all good red sweepers are rare now. this is a good card, it should be rare.

        • Zombie

Because if someone drafting red picked up 2 or 3 of these at uncommon, I’m pretty sure you would just cry.

          • Fbn Dnl Schlr

Zombie, that’s an argument I can get behind. It’s a decent card for sure and a pretty good sweeper, but I don’t see it being rare. But maybe I’m too focused on EDH to value the rarity factor in draft.

        • Bennyboy

Because the symbol on the right hand side is Gold, signifying that this is a rare card. Pretty simple when you think about it…

        • SenasBush

Have you people ever heard of this little thing called VOICE OF F*CKIN RESURGENCE! THAT CARD NEEDS ANSWERS, AND THIS IS A MIGHTY FINE WAY TO DO IT!

  • Zann-ael

This is mass remove all – mizzium takes 1 up but cost 6 mana…

    • Jordan

also mortars is a 2 mana removal.

  • Sifu

Does protection work agaisnt this card? like Brave the Elements?

    • Jason Hutto

Yes. Protection from red would reduce all damage from a red source (this) to zero.

      • Sifu

        thanks guys

    • Joshua McTiernan

Yes. It doesn’t matter that its not targeted, protection from red will save your guys

      • Sifu

  • just.otik

My Supreme verdicts feel suddenly so small…

  • Joshua McTiernan

Quicken this…….just saying. Costs the same as Supreme Verdict, can’t be countered and so on. Oh, and draw a card why don’t you?!

    • jeremysclone

I’m pretty sure it can still be countered, and sure you’re drawing a card, but you’re also using 2 cards to do what one card can do, so you’d end up with the same amount of cards in hand that you would if you used supreme. So basically you’d just be getting an instant supreme verdict that can be countered that doesn’t quite kill everything.

  • Kevan Kramer

Love the name and a cheap Mortars….not bad at all.

  • guest.B

I dub this card “up yours burning tree emissary”

    • Zombie

I dub this card “Feed my Scavenging Ooze all the things.”

      • gemico

This does not feed scavenging ooze. All exiled

        • Zombie

I really should read cards more.

      • LeonFA

        Those moments happen, bro. :/

  • GramMAR Freak

It’s like Slagstorm on crack o.o I don’t even mind the inability to target players – I never actually saw it used as a burn spell anyway.

  • Nickerton

Does anyone have the flavor text translated for this?

    • guest

the first sentence says something about there being no reason to pray. I believe the second sentence says something about an act of the gods.

    • GramMAR Freak

“There was no reason to pray. It was already an act of the gods.”

      Or something to that extent.

  • Al

I like how most people ignored the fact that it’s an AOE 3 damage to all creatures, that will handle Voice of Resurgence & Xathrid Nercomancer+Humans deck once and for all.

  • MtgMind-Welder98

    Seems pretty good

Still no translation of the text though :/

    • Mitchwhotookfrench

The flavor text says something like
“There is no reason to pray. It was an act of gods.”
“You have no reason to pray. It was an act of gods.”

      • MtgMind-Welder98

        Wow sweet txt thanks :D

      • Daniel Gilmore

Actually I think it’s closer to “There was no reason to pray. It was an act of the gods.”

  • Josh Kaufman

It is if Pillar of Flame and Slagstorm had a child and it came out looking something like this, but would have been nice if it was hybrid R/U because I really want a control deck in this format.

  • GRUULman

Amazing art. It has that…AWE to it..

    Like the original Progenitus has.
