Cycling 1 Mana

  • Tolle

I don’t speak the language but based on the shear number of spoiled cards I’ve seen in the language I am guessing lightning bolt with cycling.

    • Pier-Luc Tremblay

Its written next to the card, Deals 3 damage to each creature. It’s an Anger of the Gods with cycling. Also does not exile

      • Tolle

Not when I posted. But thanks for letting me know it is up

  • The Dracogenius

Finally new wording in German, addressing plural names as plural rather than singular. The
wrong grammar gave me a headache

  • kevin

Inflict 3 damage to each creature

    cycle 3

  • PC

    3 damage to each creature

    Cycling 3

  • KrakenHunter

decent since you can cycle, Kinda wish it was like flamebreak and dealt damage to players as well.

    • The Dracogenius

The cycling cost is so high though. For 3 mana this card is really clunky to cycle away as a cantrip. If it had an additional effect lile dealing 1 damage to every creature when you cycle it I would be much happier.

      • Brendan Noonan

In control you’re just looking for closers late anyway so it’s pretty nice to have that option :)

      • KrakenHunter

Yea 3 CMC to cycle is pretty bad.

  • galen150

this looks good, 3 mana to blow up the board. better than needed to run 3 colors for radiant flames.

  • Happy The Cat

    PRAISE THE SUN!!!
…or kill the Solaire of Astora and draw a card… your choice…

  • E.

Nice. Like radiant flames but easier to cast in most cases. And you can cycle it away when you’re ahead

    • More similar to Slagstorm or Anger of the Gods than it is to Radiant Flames.

  • David Muñoz Lopez

    like anger of the gods.
it doesn’t exile creatures, but you can cycle it.

  • VanDeB

flavor text is: “The Hekma protect the city from sandstorms and monsters, but nothing can stop the blazing heat of the sun.”

    • Taylor Foley

      you are a saint.

    • eltratzo

nitpicky nitpick: “das hekma” is a Singular so it should be “the Hekma protects”. similarily “der sonnen” is plural so it should be “the suns”.

  • Brams

The flavor text translation is: “And the monsters tried to escape the sandstorm, but Hekma ripped a huge fart in the temple, and all suffered tremendously.”

  • Ryan Sullivan

It’s not anger of the gods, but I’ll take it. Pluss, it’s less restrictive than Radiant flames for the same damage.

    • Zombie

Trading exiling for cycling seems worth, but imho not in a set with Embalm and graveyard recursion abound.

  • ChaosEngineer

This plus Soul-Scar Mage equals 3 -1/-1 counters to all creatures. Exciting

    • Zombie

I’d rather have Anger of the Gods for the exiling but the Standard version with this and SSM is sweet too, albeit weaker in the face of embalm.

      • ChaosEngineer

Yeah I was thinking standard. Also I think the mages effect prevents the exile since no damage was actually dealt.

        • Zombie

Fair enough, stupid replacement effects ruining my fun.

      • Happy The Cat

well, since Soul-Scar replaces the damage Anger wont exile, so these two effectively become the same spell.

        • ChaosEngineer

Exactly, except for the fact that your creatures are still dealt damage so it only exiles your own stuff. So considering that and the cycle option, this is a way better card for this combo than anger.

    • MTG fan

Actually, 3 -1/-1 counters to all your opponent’s creatures.

      • ChaosEngineer

Oh sh- you’re right so with an additional prowess trigger it will survive the sweep and be able to bash for 3. I love this even more now.

        • MTG fan

I know right? I thought the Soul Scar Mage would apply the minus counters to my creatures, but I saw the card again after some commenters realized it was to the opponent’s creatures only.

  • Shawn Michael Diaz

Probably not gonna replace Anger of the Gods, but it’s still great to have a budget alt for other formats

  • Lopezien

x4 in my next Standard control deck. So versatile

  • Justin Burton

This is wonderful, I was fearful for frontier because of the lack of cheap sweepers like anger, but now frontier has pseudo anger which can be short card cycling.

I’m happy to slap elves and bant with this.

  • Shagoth

OH god, my friends janky protection from red/Pyroclasm Tajic deck is going to get more toys!

  • kk

    bye bye aggro strategies…

Now those who can RR can maindeck this with fear because it cycles.

    • Deadly Berry

      Don’t you mean without* there?

  • kk

    *without

  • Chaospyke

Well dang, and here I thought I was about to do something with white weanies.

  • kmk888

This card is very good and will see play in Standard. Cycling costing 3 isn’t awesome, but it’s better than a dead card. You can and should maindeck this. Just like Radiant Flames it also seems super powerful with Kalitas.

  • Deadly Berry

Not bad, although I would wish that its Cycling were 2 instead of 3.

  • tsokanos filippos

A bad Starstorm thats what it is.Not saying its unplayable though.

  • Luminous_leper

Can anyone translate the German text?
