    Beautiful

  • harakka

Umbra stalkerish art, interesting lhurgoyfish thing.

  • guy

    nightmare could take him.

    • Quinn Carrico

      Or bestow Nightmare with Nighthowler.

      • Wangler

        Oh god…

        • Joshua McTiernan

I know! Now we have a Nightmare howling in the night! And it won’t shut up! :)

promo will be worth it just for the art

Now that’s a good bestow cost, wizards is confusing, they make bestow too expensive when it’s giving enchanted creature much, but when it has a lot of potential like this, they make it reasonable?

    • Zombie

The rarer a creature is, generally the more efficient it will be.

It’s why this has a very reasonable Bestow cost, Polukranos has a good Monstrosity cost, etc.

Wizards doesn’t want every single Bestow or Monstrosity to be amazingly underpriced because it would pretty much destroy the Theros Limited environment immediately.

  • Antares

Sweet. A reasonable Bestow cost. I’m excited to see further bestows with both potential and reasonable costs. Truth is, we’d only seen either commons or one janky (intro deck) rare for Bestow; not the best examples. Hopefully we’ll see more like this. Something like this in Jund/Junk will be brutal (thanks to all the kill spells).

  • Zombie

Wizards seems like they’re trying really hard to keep Reanimator in Standard.

Self- Mill, reanimate a huge bomb, play this on it, laugh maniacally.

  • Kevan Kramer

    Finally a good Bestow Cost.

Something I just thought of about bestow. If your opponent kills the
target creature in response, the Bestow spell would be countered,
right? You wouldn’t even get the creature, I think. That’s kinda
    harsh.

    • Somnom

Nope, you get a creature. If it stops being an Aura for any reason, it simply becomes a creature.

      • richardshort2001

Don’t think so, haven’t seen the rulings yet, but if the creature dies when it’s still on the stack then it’s still an aura without a target and is countered.

      • richardshort2001

Nevermind just saw they wrote a new rule specifically for bestow that causes the spell to stop being an Aura on the stack if it’s target is destroyed. That makes it significantly better.

  • Nickerton

I Bestow this on my Mortivore that’s holding a Bonehoard.

Makes me a bit sad that this has to share a Standard format with Scavenging Ooze.
